Buyer Planner is responsible for planning and procuring materials and services to support production schedules and business needs. Primary Activities/Duties: Develop and maintain material requirements plans based on production forecasts, customer orders, ERP demand, and inventory levels. Issue purchase orders, confirm deliveries, and manage on-time delivery performance. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery and communication. Monitor inventory levels, proactively addressing shortages and surpluses. Collaborate with production planning and other departments to ensure material availability and timely production. Evaluate supplier delivery performance and recommend improvements (in coordination with sourcing team). Resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies. Escalate supply constraints to management and sourcing as needed. Contribute to continuous improvement in purchasing and planning. Participate in planning meetings to communicate supply status and address potential issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Requires long durations on the manufacturing floor and/or long durations in the office at a computer. Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the work shift. Participate in weekly Rittal Production System (RPS) meetings. Continuously improve welding skills and overall competencies. Support and drive 6S activities to maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge & Experience: High school diploma or GED strongly preferred. Minimum of 1 year of welding experience or completion of a certified welding training program. Ability to read and interpret blueprints is strongly preferred. Familiarity with basic welding tools, techniques, and safety procedures. Physical Requirements: Stand at the weld station throughout the work shift. Walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently during the shift. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds to waist level; frequently lift 25-40 pounds to waist level and up to 25 pounds above the shoulders. Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing assignments and multitask effectively.
