In 1978 they took over the River Hills Plantation telephone directory, which the Women’s Club had published for the two previous years.
As of June 1979 all common property in the Plantation was deeded to and placed under the control of the Community Association.
In June of 1980 Erwin broke ground for the development of the Lake Wylie Plaza.
1980- Commodore Point traded with Camp Thunderbird- The River Hills Emergency Squad commenced operation
In January 1981 Erwin completed negotiations with Doctor Moore's widow for the purchase of her remaining tract of land in the corner of Marina Road and the Parking lot.
On August 1, 1982, George W. Underwood, of Dallas, purchased the Club and the land and took over the operation on September 1, 1982 embarking on an expensive program of renovations and additions to the facilities.
1983- Lake Wylie Athletic Club opens
Under the leadership of Club Member, Larry Smith, with the help of several others, the Membership of Riverhill purchased the Club from George W. Underwood on September 2, 1986, becoming a member-owned country club.
1986-Cemetery donated by Erwin \ Spratt
In 1988 the first home was built in River Hills.
1988-Four Lanes announced for Route 49Dairy Queen Opens
After a lengthy court battle, with claims that caused a great deal of anguish to many ‘owners’ of property within the defined area of the old reservation, the Catawba were again granted federal recognition as a nation in 1994.
1995- New Front Gate Sign and fence (money from land sale for widening Route 49)
When the development was sold out, the developer sold the club to a growing golf course operator in 2000.
2003 – Extensive $2 million dollar renovation by then-owner Benjy Hardee (of Hardee & Son Construction) to make the course “friendlier.”
On October 1, 2009, Southern Golf Properties purchased Riverhill Country Club.
2014 – River Hills was purchased by Yiqian Funding, which has formed Founders Group International (FGI).
