River Valley Community College company history timeline
River Valley Community College was founded in 1968 (under a variety of names over the years) and has ever since provided quality education in an academic environment small enough to allow individualized attention.
Originally named New Hampshire Vocational Institute at Claremont, it opened in 1968 with 129 students, and became an immediate source of the pride for the Claremont, New Hampshire area.
Waubonsee established another major extension center in January 1997 on the Rush-Copley Medical Center campus, adjacent to Route 34 in far east Aurora.
Spring 2011 marked the beginning of courses at the college's fourth permanent campus, located in Plano.
Renovated and renamed the Aurora Fox Valley Campus in summer 2016, it houses the college's health care programs, in addition to offering general education courses and comprehensive student services.
River Valley Community College is a small, rural community college which celebrated its 50th year anniversary in 2018.
