Accessible via the Green Line E at Gilman Station. Less than a 15-minute commute from the Boston Area! The RN/LPN nurse is an integral part of the outpatient interdisciplinary treatment team. The nurse is responsible for providing direct care and care coordination for persons served primarily receiving medicated assisted treatment (MAT) but also supporting the needs of the general client population. This includes all duties related to patient care, such as medical screenings and assessments, follows up on lab work and referrals or admissions, and consults to other team members. Major responsibilities include assisting with filling prescriber orders, administering medications (buprenorphine and Vivitrol), and monitoring vital signs. The RN/LPN would provide guidance, education, and support in persons served recovery to allow them to maintain their physical and emotional health and live safely in the community. Duties and Responsibilities: Vital measurements: respirations, heart rate, temperature (P.O ., tympanic, and axillary routes), pain assessment: lung sounds, heart sounds, neurological, gastrointestinal, signs of abuse/neglect, injuries, seizure precautions and crisis management. The program offers short-term, 24/7, staff-secure, safe, and structured crisis treatment services in a community-based program that serves as a medically necessary, less-restrictive, and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct initial medical screening on all new clients. Maintain all treatment charts in order per record keeping procedures established by the Program. Provide health education to clients and coordinate with counselor/case manager a response to any health related issue identified or brought forth. Collect daily and/or sporadic health vitals (i.e. temperature, pulse, blood pressure) and urine specimens on acupuncture clients. Make daily entries of any pertinent client health data in the case record. Review all communications for notices and/or other pertinent data regarding client care. Become familiar with the Center's intake procedures as from time to time a complete intake may be required to facilitate program admission. Triage any client complaints or concerns related to their health Conduct regular inventory of supplies and submit acquisition orders per procedures established by the Center for procurement.
