Position Summary:
Responsible for the setup of telemetry on physician orders by ensuring proper placement of electrodes, running strips, and replacing batteries as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Selects, sets-up, calibrates and adjusts monitoring equipment in accordance with physician orders. Ensures continued proper functioning of equipment; troubleshoots equipment problems as identified. Collects, transmits, and documents pertinent patient data to the Registered Nurse (RN) with correct interpretations and interval measurements on each patient at required intervals every shift and with any significant rhythm change. Maintains current monitored patients in the system; confers with nursing staff to determine correct validation counts and alarm parameters for patients. Reports alarms and changes of rhythm to RN staff. Greets, screens and processes incoming unit/dept calls, patients, visitors, and messages. Transcribes physician orders, enters tests, and treatment requests into system. Assembles and maintains patient medical records including posting of results.

Required: Successful completion of EKG class. Familiar with medical terminology.

The Medical Surgical unit is in search of a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a UnitCoordinator (UC) in Bigelow 11.
Bigelow 11 is an innovative acute medical unit located in Boston, MA. This team utilizes an all-RN model, in which the RN coordinates the nursing plan of care, implements nursing interventions and treatment plans, evaluates the outcomes and provides all physical care. All beds are equipped for telemetry monitoring.
The unit serves patients from vast backgrounds and geographic areas that present with acute and complex medical problems. Patients are generally admitted to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer from one of the intensive care units.
Schedule
Days and Nights shift.
Must do rotating Holiday schedule.
Must be able to provide (1x)10-hour shifts per week
