Position Overview:
The Michigan PGA Internship provides a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about golf, sports management, and event operations to gain hands-on experience in the golf industry. The intern will be involved in a variety of tasks, from assisting with tournament operations to supporting marketing and administrative functions. Key Responsibilities:
Tournament Operations: Assist with the planning and execution of Michigan PGA Section tournaments as well as Junior tournaments and events. This includes player registration, logistics coordination, scoring and facility set up.
Marketing & Communications: Assist with the creation of content for Michigan PGA's social media channels, website, newsletters, and other promotional materials. Help with outreach efforts to increase event attendance and participation.
Golf Course Set Up: Assist in the golf course set up for events including marking penalty areas, out of bounds, tees, ground under repair, etc…
Sponsorship & Partnership Support: Assist with sponsor relations and help coordinate activation of sponsor benefits at tournaments and events.
General Administration: Provide support in day-to-day administrative tasks including player memos, pairings, scorecards, officials info, data entry, etc..
Qualifications:
Education: Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Event Planning, Marketing, Business, or a related field. Recent graduates or individuals looking to further their career in the golf industry are also encouraged to apply.
Interest in Golf: A passion for golf or sports in general is highly preferred. Experience playing golf or working in golf-related activities is a plus, but not required.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing is a plus.

The responsibilities of the Academic Coordinator for Football will include, but are not limited to:
Plan and coordinate academic support for student-athletes in football and other sports as assigned, to provide opportunities to maximize their use of University academic support resources.

Under the direction of the Associate Director of SASS/Head Football Academic Coordinator, assign tutorial support and provide detailed monitoring of assigned student-athletes.
Monitor course performance through inspection of professor progress reports and student feedback and relay appropriate information to pertinent staff.
Participate in the on-campus and virtual recruitment of prospective student-athletes by conducting individual meetings, group presentations and/or campus and departmental tours.
Assist the Director of Student-Athlete Development as needed.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student-Athlete Support Services.
