Role Summary
In this role, the Electronics Engineer will own and drive full‑lifecycle electronics components development from requirements, implementation, bring‑up, validation, and system integration for current and next generation of Rivian electric vehicles. This would be a highly visible role working cross‑functionally and closely with vendors to influence design, contribute to solving HW/SW system integration challenges, and experience the complete product development cycle.
Responsibilities
Drive the hardware design and lead development of the vehicle electrical system by developing complete electronic modules from the ground up to Rivian Standards.
Mature the design by characterizing and debugging test vehicles.
Contribute to evaluating system failure modes, create and drive integration and validation plans, and support the execution of these test plans.
Collaborate with software and integration engineers to ensure hardware and software integration requirements are well understood and implemented correctly at all levels of the stack, on the bench, and in the system.
Simplify complex functions and features to their core components using first principles approach to drive simple and structured requirements and production‑friendly solution working with broader team.
Participate in safety and reliability reviews and contribute to resolving reliability issues for components, subsystems, and assemblies.
Collaborate with reliability engineers to support DFMEA to drive reliable design choices and improve validation test planning.
Drive technical decisions and guide the team in the right direction.
Think holistically. Understand the impact of your plan or decision to program and customers. Deep dive into technical issues to drive data‑driven decisions.
Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
BS + 5 years or MS + 3 years or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or related field.
Hardware design experience in analog, digital and mixed‑signal and interfaces.
Experience with schematics, PCB layouts, and simulation tools (Spice, Matlabs, etc.).
Familiarity with C programming and microcontroller peripherals such as SPI, I2C, and other various protocols. Experience working with FW teams to drive and test and hardware requirements.
Proficiency on necessary test and measurement tools (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, spectrum analyzer).
Demonstrated strong creative thinking and problem‑solving toolbox.
Ability to dive deep into electrical first principles and work in fast‑paced and challenging environments.
Ability to collaborate and drive direction through multidisciplinary discussions.
Understanding of automotive requirements.
End‑to‑end product design/development from prototyping to mass production experience.
Have a fine eye for detail, yet the ability to ‘zoom out' and see the big picture.
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for Bay Area Based Applicants: $132,000 - $165,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)
Salary Range for Southern CA Based Applicants: $121,000 - $151,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Role Summary Our team develops firmware and controls for a wide range of power conversion systems, used in both automotive and energy applications (e.g., DC fast chargers, residential bidirectional chargers, onboard power electronics). We're looking for a candidate to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) development platforms, tools, and infrastructure. You'll drive the implementation of our software test framework, from its high-level architecture to its detailed development. This involves collaborating with controls and software developers to define test requirements, create test cases, execute and analyze test results, and ensure traceability of test cases to requirements. Responsibilities HIL Model Setup: Design and build HIL environments that accurately represent the real-world behavior of our power electronics products. Test Case Development: Develop comprehensive test cases that cover a wide range of operating conditions, fault scenarios, and functional safety requirements. Test Execution and Analysis: Execute HIL tests, collect and analyze data, identify and document issues, and provide clear and concise reports to development teams. Automation of regression tests execution at different stages of software development cycles and its integration with CI/CD workflow/pipelines. Software Validation: Collaborate with controls and software engineers to validate the functionality, performance, and safety of power electronics software and control algorithms. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Assist in troubleshooting and debugging issues identified during HIL testing, working closely with hardware and software teams to resolve problems. Triage and debug the failed test cases between HIL related failures and software bugs. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of HIL models, testing processes, tools, and methodologies. Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of test setups, test cases, test results, and any issues encountered. Manage the traceability of test coverage from requirements to validation at different granularity levels of requirements on the HIL with growing SW maturity levels. Report on the test coverage improvements to the team regularly. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline. As a Staff Materials Engineer, Corrosion on the Tustin Materials team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products perform reliably for our customers. The Staff Materials Engineer, Corrosion will perform a wide range of analysis and testing of materials and material systems, from the early development phases through to series production. Responsibilities ● Collaborate with teams across Rivian programs to assess materials and system design and to improve corrosion fundamentals, specification, and performance. ● Test materials and systems, coatings, adhesives and weldments at the lab scale including coupon and component tests. ● Perform detailed problem-solving such as root cause corrective action and/or failure analysis for issues with parts encountered in the plant, during external testing, in a Service environment, or in the field. ● Responsible for creation of design guidance and material qualification for corrosion performance. ● Work to develop multi-scale model correlation to enable more first principles design work and earlier issue detection to protect corrosion performance and interaction with other material property requirements. Role Summary
As an engineer focusing on cellular and wireless integration for the Connected Systems Integration Team at R|V Tech, you will work alongside software developers, systems integrators, and system engineers to support features such as cellular, WiFi, Ethernet and GPS domains along with telematics, mobile app integration, and other Internet-dependent vehicle features, with a primary focus on cellular systems integration and bring-up.
The cellular and wireless integration engineer will execute tests and integration of connectivity features and will also contribute to automation of these tests (in Python). The cellular and wireless integration engineer may also support other vehicle development activities which require connectivity support. These development activities may include drives in pre-production vehicles and will provide exposure to vehicle networks, cloud connectivity, and fleet management. The connectivity integration engineer may support time-critical test events and may be asked to support special investigations and projects.
Responsibilities
Your typical day looks like this:
Attend meetings with development teams to understand new system designs and to align on test plans and expectations.
Create design documentation and test plans for a new cellular feature implementation.
Perform cellular testing using a specialized test chamber and test equipment; work with test equipment vendors to ensure compatibility and system integrity for automation.
Perform complementary cellular testing on-vehicle using a prototype or fleet vehicle.
Analyze logs from internal and external bugs to assess root cause of failure and create new work scope for dev teams.
