The Security Officer has the responsibility of promoting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at either the Chicago campus or the Hinsdale campus. This is accomplished by patrolling the facility and campus, assuring that the building is secure, responding to emergency situations, taking charge during security incidents, reporting procedures & investigations, responding to special requests as well as performing other duties as assigned. Reports to: Supervisor of Security and Director of Ancillary Services.Supervises: None PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs security related activities as assigned to ensure a safe environment inside the hospital building and outside on the hospital campus.
Responds to emergency situations or security threats in a professional manner, following established procedures.
Participates in investigations of security incidents.
Patrols the facility and campus at designated intervals to maintain order and prevent crime.
Reports and documents any conditions that might constitute a security or safety hazard. Documentation is accurate, complete, and timely.
Assures that offices and departments are secure when vacant.
Reports unsafe conditions as well as policy infractions, takes appropriate actions to resolve issues.
Monitors video management system and takes appropriate actions to respond to any potential threats or unsafe incidents.
Monitors door access control system and hospital lock-out system for breaches. Ensures systems are in good working order at all times.
Escorts employees and visitors throughout the campus and parking lots as required and requested.
Requests support of area law enforcement agencies when required. Cooperates fully with area law enforcement when present.
Provides a visible presence within facility.
Monitors parking lot to ensure compliance with designated parking policies.
Safely and courteously operates hospital vehicles, if needed.
Relieves receptionist at front desk as assigned. Relief duties include visitor registration, transferring of calls, and annunciation of codes as needed.
Maintains professional appearance which includes strict adherence to department uniform guidelines, including the issued vest, duty belt, and other equipment required to perform their job appropriately.
Assists Office Services, Plant Operations, and EVS staff, if needed, which includes, but is not limited to, trash disposal and snow removal.
Attends internal meetings and in-services and participates in mandatory reviews of policies and procedures.

GENERAL SUMMARY Reports to the Director of Ancillary Services. Under general supervision, but according to established procedures, answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls; greets, registers, and appropriately directs all visitors; and provides secretarial support to other departments. This includes, but is not limited to, gowns and gloves, visitor labels, tour log, copier repair log, and the vending refund bag.16. Other duties as assigned. The team is looking for a physician to join Dr. Kumar and experienced clinical and non-clinical staff. The MercyOne Genesis Silvis Campus offers on-campus radiology, lab and pharmacy services to assist with the care of your patients. Infusion Center reopening in January of 2026. Call coverage will be split 1:3 consisting of calls only.

Reporting to the Manager, Respiratory Care - Chicago or Director of Respiratory Care Services, and according to established policies, procedures, respiratory standards of care and practice and the direction of the medical staff, the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) renders competent, humane, individualized care to every patient and the family. The RCP assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of respiratory care services to facilitate continuity of care through the continuum of services offered at RML. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern, and honor in all interactions with patients, families, and co-workers, as identified in departmental and hospital-wide behavioral expectations.
Maintains accountability for the management of all respiratory care services required by assigned patients. Accepts and responds to written and verbal physician orders, participates in emergency and “code” situations, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation, performs pulmonary assessments, administers and monitors patients' response to bronchodilators, performs blood gas analyses, performs stat electrolytic analyses, performs complex respiratory treatments, and manages patients on mechanical ventilation per physician order and approved RML ventilator weaning protocol.
Demonstrates clinical competence by consistently applying respiratory knowledge and performing within the scope of practice of a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Illinois. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and skills appropriate to the respiratory needs of patients at RML (equipment, procedures, respiratory medications, etc.). Obtains necessary information and demonstrates competence prior to implementing new or unfamiliar care practices, or responsibly declines to provide assigned care and notifies supervisor until able to obtain the appropriate skill.
Executes the medical treatment plan by implementing MD orders for respiratory care. Seeks clarification on any unclear or questionable order by consulting with the ordering physician (or on-call physician after hours), prior to implementation. If the question is not resolved, the RCP refers the question to the Lead RCP for assistance, to the Clinical Supervisor, the Manager, of Respiratory Care Services, the Director of Respiratory Care Services, or to the V.P. Patient Care Services/ CNO as necessary for resolution.
Performs blood gas and electrolyte analysis as ordered by the physician, and is consistent with hospital policies. Reports problems in specimen management or equipment operation to the lead RCP or department director.
Assists in the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and processing of respiratory therapy equipment according to department policies.
Works in a team environment with all other members of the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care. Works closely with other disciplines to define an individualized problem list and interventions. Correlates individualized patient care goals into an interdisciplinary patient care plan. Participates as requested in organized “staffing” meetings to discuss patient progress and revise goals.
Assesses patients' progress in accordance with established goals and initiates appropriate actions. Documents thoroughly in Meditech regarding patient's condition and interventions performed (e.g., medications given, treatments performed, etc.) Reports significant information to all appropriate individuals (change of shift report, change in condition to RN and/or MD, etc.). Ensures patient acuity is accurate for the assigned shifts in OptiLink.

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, provides basic nursing care to patients. Assists professional nurses and respiratory therapists with complex patient care up to the validated level of training. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients and their families.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern and honor in all interactions with patients, families and co-workers, and as identified in departmental and hospital wide behavioral expectations.
Provides technical nursing care up to the validated level of training for the individual, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Records information promptly and accurately in the medical record. All care provided is consistent with and appropriate to the age and developmental status of adult and geriatric patients. The patient care technician:
Provides timely and complete personal hygiene care and activities of daily living, including bathing, turning, weighing, toileting, ambulating, positioning, and feeding patients. Provides post mortem care. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, and isolation practices in all situations.
Obtains vital signs and other patient data collection, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration. Measures and records patient intake and output. Performs calorie counts. Empties urinary drainage bags, linen hampers, etc. Removes and replaces patient soft restraints according to policy after initial restraints have been applied by RN.
Supports the established respiratory care needs of patients. Replaces tracheostomy mask, nasal cannula or ventilator tubing that has become disconnected or displaced, and notifies RN or RCP. Replaces pulse oximeter probe on patient's finger; observes pulse oximeter readings while providing care and notifies nurse or RCP of low readings. Reports pulse oximeter, ventilator or telemetry alarms to the RCP or RN.
Performs simple procedures such as non-sterile dressing changes under the direction of a registered nurse.
Performs common bedside tests including blood glucose monitoring, and checking stools for occult blood. Reports findings immediately to the patient's nurse, and documents in Meditech.
Observes and reports patient signs and symptoms and responses to treatments. Reports changes in the patient's condition to the registered nurse and respiratory therapist.
Assists with admissions and discharges. Orients patient and family to room, unit and environment. Handles patient belongings carefully and records them upon admission. Collects and packages patient belongings at discharge.
Observes or reports the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and assists in providing supportive care.
Answers call lights and responds to needs for all patients, not just those assigned. Assists other staff members in providing care to any patient on the unit. Offers assistance to other staff without being asked.
Performs related services and duties such as cleaning equipment, obtaining and replacing patient room supplies, and similar related activities. Ensures that all supplies used are charged according to policy.
Insures the enhancement of personal knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education programs and reading pertinent literature, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of the patient's clinical and personal information and medical record. Uses information systems, including computer systems, for hospital business only and within all hospital policies for information confidentiality and system security. Complies with HIPAA guidelines.
Conducts all communications with patients, families and staff in a positive, respectful manner. Answer telephones in a pleasant, professional manner. Directs callers to appropriate personnel and/or relays unit information. Pages personnel and physicians.
Documents accurately and timely in Meditech.
Provides an environment that is safe for the patient based on age and developmental status. Activities includes, but are not limited to: responding to call lights and alarms quickly with appropriate intervention, using patient's name and date of birth to identify patient prior to performing patient testing, complies with swallowing and skin breakdown precautions, and implements appropriate interventions consistent with the falls prevention protocol.
Facilitates patient/family participation in self-care based on age and developmental status.
Demonstrates appropriate psychosocial support based on age and developmental status.
Actively participates in staff meetings and continuing education activities. Participates on committees or task forces and attends meetings as may be assigned. Meets all annual and ongoing employee requirements (TB Testing, Annual Review, Annual Clinical Validation, and performance evaluation, etc.) by demonstrating completion prior to due date.
Responsible for supporting a safe work environment for self and others, by reporting unsafe conditions, and by using appropriate safe work practices such as proper body mechanics and applicable safety devices (patient lift and transfer equipment; safety needles and sharps disposal, PPE, etc.). Complies with Employee Health Services policies regarding illness and injury reporting.
