GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Infection Prevention Practitioner (IPP) reports directly to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety. The IPP has accountability for the implementation of the Infection Prevention Programs at RML Specialty Hospital.
The IPP is responsible for maintaining the system of identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases of patients and personnel. In addition, the IPP monitors the visitor protocol regarding potential infectious disease and is a liaison between all departments and the Director of Quality and Patient Safety with respect to issues of infection prevention.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the review and revision to the organizational Infection Prevention program to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and external regulatory requirements.
In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety develops, revises, and implements site-specific Infection Prevention plans.
Assists in the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures regarding asepsis and infection prevention in accordance with accepted current standards of practice.
Maintains a system to reduce the spread of infection and communicable disease among patients, visitors, and staff.
In collaboration with Director of Quality and Patient Safety compiles and analyzes surveillance data to identify epidemiologically significant problems; develops appropriate measures for prevention and control of these problems. Identifies and assists with implementation of improved surveillance and reporting processes.
Prepares Infection Prevention reports to the Pharmacy, Nutrition, Therapeutics - Infection Prevention Committee and the Quality and Patient Safety Committee (QPSC).
Identifies, investigates, and reports infections and outbreaks of communicable disease among patients and hospital staff, especially those occurring in clusters.
Leads performance improvement teams and/or work groups related to infection prevention issues.
Monitors patient care activities to identify methods, techniques, equipment, supplies or new products, which may constitute a risk of infection or those that may help reduce nosocomial infection.
Investigates patients, staff, and visitors' exposure to communicable diseases, e.g., chickenpox and tuberculosis. Serves as facility liaison to the Employee Health Nurse related to employee infection prevention issues. Communicates findings with Director of Quality and Patient Safety
Investigates epidemiologically significant issues and develops appropriate measures for prevention and control of the problem identified. Reports findings and interventions to Director of Quality and Patient Safety Responsible for review of internal and external construction and issuing of Infection Prevention construction permits. Communicates all construction activity to Director of Quality and Patient Safety on a regular basis.
Interacts with regulatory agencies on reporting communicable diseases and conditions.
Responsible for communicating all Department of Public Health alerts to the organizational leaders as appropriate.
Ensures regulatory compliance in maintaining Infection Prevention environmental requirements and all other related compliance issues.
Reviews and disseminates current Infection Prevention information to appropriate individuals or departments within the facility.
In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety develops and presents in-service education for the prevention and control of infection for all health care workers, patients, and families. Participates in orientation of new employees and annual employee training.
Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with all hospital departments and contracted services related to Infection Prevention issues.
Assists the Director of Quality and Patient Safety the development and on-going management of the department's budget.
Responsible for self-education through current literature review, attending workshops, seminars, and formal courses relevant to Infection Prevention.

Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field.

Reporting to the Manager, Respiratory Care - Chicago or Director of Respiratory Care Services, and according to established policies, procedures, respiratory standards of care and practice and the direction of the medical staff, the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) renders competent, humane, individualized care to every patient and the family. The RCP assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of respiratory care services to facilitate continuity of care through the continuum of services offered at RML. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern and honor in all interactions with patients, families and co-workers, and as identified in departmental and hospital wide behavioral expectations.
Maintains accountability for the management of all respiratory care services required by assigned patients. Accepts and responds to written and verbal physician orders, participates in emergency and โcodeโ situations, performs cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, performs pulmonary assessments, administers and monitors patients' response to bronchodilators, performs blood gas analyses, performs stat electrolytic analyses, performs complex respiratory treatments, and manages patients on mechanical ventilation per physician order and approved RML ventilator weaning protocol.
Demonstrates clinical competence by consistently applying respiratory knowledge and performs within the scope of practice of a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Illinois. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and skills appropriate to the respiratory needs of patients at RML (equipment, procedures, respiratory medications, etc.). Obtains necessary information and demonstrates competence prior to implementing new or unfamiliar care practices, or responsibly declines to provide assigned care and notifies supervisor until able to obtain the appropriate skill.
Executes the medical treatment plan by implementing MD orders for respiratory care. Seeks clarification on any unclear or questionable order by consulting with the ordering physician (or on-call physician after hours), prior to implementation. If question is not resolved, the RCP refers the question to the Lead RCP for assistance, to the Clinical Supervisor, the Manager, Respiratory Care Services, the Director of Respiratory Care Services, or to the V.P. Patient Care Services/ CNO as necessary for resolution.
Performs blood gas and electrolyte analysis as ordered by physician, and consistent with hospital policies. Reports problems in specimen management or equipment operation to the lead RCP or department director.
Assists in the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and processing of respiratory therapy equipment according to department policies.
Works in a team environment with all other members of the healthcare team to provide patient centered care. Works closely with other disciplines to define an individualized problem list and interventions. Correlates individualized patient care goals into an interdisciplinary patient care plan. Participates as requested in organized โstaffingโ meetings to discuss patient progress and revise goals.
Assesses patients' progress in accordance with established goals and initiates appropriate actions. Documents thoroughly in Meditech regarding patient's condition and interventions performed (e.g., medications given, treatments performed, etc.) Reports significant information to all appropriate individuals (change of shift report, change in condition to RN and/or MD, etc.). Ensures patient acuity is accurate for assigned shift in OptiLink.
Works closely with other disciplines and the care coordinator to ensure that interventions and patient care is timely and progresses effectively in order to ensure patient and family readiness for discharge.
Maintains the basic human rights and confidentiality of each patient, family and significant others in providing information and in delivering patient care. Is aware of and complies with applicable standards, regulations and laws related to healthcare workers and the care of hospitalized patients, including but not limited to pain management, confidentiality, and abuse reporting, etc.
Observes and reports the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and assists in providing supportive care to them and their families.

evaluates environment safety and provides a safe clinical environment
Responsible for supporting a safe work environment for self and others, by reporting unsafe conditions, and by using appropriate safe work practices such as proper body mechanics and applicable safety devices (patient lift and transfer equipment, face and eye protection, and sharps disposal, PPE, etc.)
Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently adheres to established precautions for infection control. Ensures that other healthcare workers and visitors are aware of and have the personal protective equipment available to appropriately interact with the patients under the RCP's care.
Participates in department performance improvement activities. Notes opportunities to improve patient safety, department operations, or respiratory care practices, and brings to attention of the Lead RCP or department manager or director. Participates in department and facility committees and performance improvement teams. Implements all applicable components of patient safety goals.
Maintains effective colleague relationships with other members of the health care team through consistently professional and respectful communications. Actively participates in the educational development of healthcare students and participates in the formal and informal education of other team members. Participates in orienting and precepting new RCPs. Acts as preceptor for agency therapists, as assigned.
Actively participates in staff meetings and continuing education activities. Provides information and feedback to other staff members on related clinical and professional topics. Meets all employee requirements (PPD, CPR, annual review, performance evaluation, etc.) by demonstrating completion or participating in the required activity prior to expiration or due date.

Position Summary: The Healthcare Data Integration Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing healthcare data workflows, integrations, and database systems. This role focuses on SQL database administration, Mirth Connect interface engine development, and Meditech Expanse system support to ensure seamless data interoperability across clinical and business applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration & Development (SQL Server)
Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL databases supporting healthcare applications.
Develop and manage SQL scripts, stored procedures, ETL processes, and triggers for data manipulation and reporting.
Monitor database performance, implement tuning strategies, and ensure high availability.
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for SQL environments.
Integration & Interoperability (Mirth Connect)
Design, develop, and maintain interfaces using Mirth Connect for HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data exchange formats.
Ensure seamless data integration between Meditech Expanse and third-party applications, including EHRs, PACS, billing, and analytics platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to optimize workflows and automate data exchange processes.
Meditech Expanse System Support
Provide administrative support for Meditech Expanse, including system configurations, user access management, and troubleshooting.
Develop custom reports and extracts using Meditech's reporting tools and SQL queries.
Work with Meditech support teams to resolve system issues and optimize performance.
Assist in system upgrades, patches, and implementation of new Meditech modules.
Security, Compliance, & Documentation
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare data security regulations.
Implement best practices for secure data exchange, encryption, and access controls.
Maintain detailed documentation of integration workflows, system configurations, and data mappings.
Support audits and regulatory reporting as required.
Key Competencies:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data integration issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical, IT, and vendor teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
3+ years of experience with SQL Server database administration and development.
2+ years of experience with Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) for HL7, FHIR, XML, JSON integrations.
Experience working with Meditech Expanse, including system administration, reporting, and interfaces.
Technical Skills:
Strong SQL programming and performance tuning skills.
Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, X12, JSON, and XML healthcare data standards.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript for automation.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services for data exchange.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a hospital or healthcare IT environment.
Knowledge of other integration engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Rhapsody) is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud-based healthcare solutions and data analytics platforms.

Under general supervision, performs routine duties associated with the preparation, service and delivery of food for patients, employees and visitors. Adheres to safety and sanitation standards. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
According to assignment performs duties associated with the following responsibilities:

Food Preparation:
Performs routine food preparation duties according to specific instructions from supervising staff.
Prepares food preparation functions within allotted time frame.
Prepares patient, cafeteria and catering foods using standardized recipes.
Rotates stock daily to ensure freshness and avoid waste.
Complies with time and temperature controls to provide safe foods and completes all required documentation.
Dishwashing and Sanitation:
Scrapes dishes, (trays, cups, silverware, etc.) and loads them into dishwashing machines.
Transports clean dishes to appropriate location (i.e., cafeteria, kitchen, serving line) for reuse.
Cleans and sanitizes all patient food trucks and kitchen food transport trucks.
Cafeteria:
Serves food to patients, employees and visitors in a courteous manner observing portion control. Uses the REACH program sayings and doings to make an excellent first and lasting impression.
Assist in the preparation of cold food production.
Maintains adequate level of various foods by ensuring that all hot and cold items are available for service and are the correct temperature.
Cleans and sanitizes work area.
Completes all required time, temperature and quality of food documentation.
Removes trash from the cafeteria and disposes into hospital dumpsters.
Patient Tray Line:
Performs assigned tasks such as transporting food to service line, placing food and condiments on trays, and loading trays on carts for transportation.
Controls service temperature of foods by maintaining appropriate amounts on tray line.
Observes portion control standards at all times.
Observes sanitation standards at all times.
Completes all required time, temperature and quality of food documentation.
Responsible for assigned cleaning duties.
Pot and Pan Washing:
Fills sink with water and adds appropriate amounts of soap.
Scrapes pots and pans and places them in sinks; allows them to soak, or scrubs them immediately using scouring pads. Places pots and pans in sterilizer and removes them when finished.
Removes dishes, trays, pans, etc., from machine or sinks and stacks them in appropriate locations.
Cleans pan washing sinks.
Cleans and sanitizes pot and pan racks.
Delivers patient trays, between meal snacks, special requests and floor stock within time constraints. Rounds back to patients after trays are delivered to insure quality of meal service and to fill additional patient requests.
Participates or completes special catering as assigned.
Checks in stock, labels accordingly and places it in appropriate areas.
Adheres to established hospital and departmental safety guidelines.
Completes department sanitation as assigned.
May assist with menu delivery and collection.
Courteously answers phone calls using the department scripts and sayings. Assists with the resolution of requests; reports patient requests or special needs to management and/or dietitians.
Attends hospital and department meetings, inservices and reviews as required.
Performs clerical duties involve in copying of menus, productions sheets and other forms.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Respects patient confidentiality, providing necessary information and data to the clinical dietitians and direct patient care staff.
