The Security Officer has the responsibility of promoting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at either the Chicago campus or the Hinsdale campus. This is accomplished by patrolling the facility and campus, assuring that the building is secure, responding to emergency situations, taking charge during security incidents, reporting procedures & investigations, responding to special requests as well as performing other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Supervisor of Security and Director of Ancillary Services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the Mission and Vision of RML Specialty Hospital by demonstrating RML's Core Values of Service, Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Respect and Stewardship (STAIRS) in all actions. Promotes a positive patient/customer experience by exemplifying the principles of the Language of Caring in all interactions with patients, families and co-workers.
Performs security related activities as assigned to ensure a safe environment inside the hospital building and outside on the hospital campus.
Responds to emergency situations or security threats in a professional manner, following established procedures.
Participates in investigations of security incidents.
Patrols the facility and campus at designated intervals to maintain order and prevent crime.
Reports and documents any conditions that might constitute a security or safety hazard. Documentation is accurate, complete, and timely.
Assures that offices and departments are secure when vacant.
Reports unsafe conditions as well as policy infractions, takes appropriate actions to resolve issues.
Monitors video management system and takes appropriate actions to respond to any potential threats or unsafe incidents.
Monitors door access control system and hospital lock-out system for breaches. Ensures systems are in good working order at all times.
Escorts employees and visitors throughout the campus and parking lots as required and requested.
Requests support of area law enforcement agencies when required. Cooperates fully with area law enforcement when present.
Provides a visible presence within facility.
Monitors parking lot to ensure compliance with designated parking policies.
Safely and courteously operates hospital vehicles, if needed.
Relieves receptionist at front desk as assigned. Relief duties include visitor registration, transferring of calls, and annunciation of codes as needed.
Maintains professional appearance which includes strict adherence to department uniform guidelines, including the issued vest, duty belt, and other equipment required to perform their job appropriately.
Assists Office Services, Plant Operations, and EVS staff, if needed, which includes, but is not limited to, trash disposal and snow removal.
Attends internal meetings and in-services and participates in mandatory reviews of policies and procedures.
Supports the Mission and Vision of RML Specialty Hospital by demonstrating RML's Core Values of Service, Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Respect and Stewardship (STAIRS) in all actions. JOB REQUIREMENTS & CHARACTERISTICS

Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), teamwork, customer service, and problem solving skills. Able to work effectively with coworkers.
Knowledge & Experience
High school graduate or equivalent.
Previous security experience.
Computer skills
Formal training in crisis intervention within 12 months of hire.
One to two years experience in security in a health care environment.
Experienced in using video management systems and access control systems.
Defensive weapons training.
Police officer training.
Formal training in crisis intervention.
License/
Certification
Valid Illinois Driver's License

General Summary of Position Responsibility:
The Polysomnographic Tech Assistant is a support position in the Sleep Medicine Center with duties designed to be flexible in order to meet the specific needs of the department. The Polysomnographic Tech Assistant assists the Polysomnographic Technologists by facilitating the workflow of the department. Individuals in the Polysomnographic Assistant role will have demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to achieve results in a team environment. Active participation in an intensive Polysomnography training program will be required including the completion of AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) online learning modules. Completion of internal competencies as well as hands on coaching required in order to successful transition into the Polysomnographic Technologist role.
Essential Job Functions:
Area Specific Job Accountabilities:
* Assists Polysomnographic Technologists with tasks for the successful acquisition of Polysomnography studies.
* Assure that all signals are clear from artifact at all times.
* Report all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to the Polysomnographic Technologists.
* Disconnects patient from the electrodes, cleans and removes equipment from the patient room at the conclusion of the study.
* Performs cleaning of equipment, and restocks supplies as needed. All equipment and supplies will be cleaned according to area policy and maintained in the appropriate dirty/clean holding areas.
* Facilitates patient flow to and from the sleep areas.
* Works cooperatively as a team member to foster achievement of unit/hospital goals.
* Actively completes 25 Self-Study modules through the AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine).
* Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* High school diploma required.
* Minimum of one year of experience working in a healthcare role required.
* Basic Life Support Certification required.
* Ability to move machines and patients weighing in excess of 25 pounds.
* Ability to effectively communicate with hospital staff and departments.
* Entry level personal computer or Microsoft Windows knowledge.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Reporting to the Manager, Respiratory Care - Chicago or Director of Respiratory Care Services, and according to established policies, procedures, respiratory standards of care and practice and the direction of the medical staff, the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) renders competent, humane, individualized care to every patient and the family. The RCP assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of respiratory care services to facilitate continuity of care through the continuum of services offered at RML. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern, and honor in all interactions with patients, families, and co-workers, as identified in departmental and hospital-wide behavioral expectations.
Maintains accountability for the management of all respiratory care services required by assigned patients. Accepts and responds to written and verbal physician orders, participates in emergency and “code” situations, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation, performs pulmonary assessments, administers and monitors patients' response to bronchodilators, performs blood gas analyses, performs stat electrolytic analyses, performs complex respiratory treatments, and manages patients on mechanical ventilation per physician order and approved RML ventilator weaning protocol.
Demonstrates clinical competence by consistently applying respiratory knowledge and performing within the scope of practice of a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Illinois. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and skills appropriate to the respiratory needs of patients at RML (equipment, procedures, respiratory medications, etc.). Obtains necessary information and demonstrates competence prior to implementing new or unfamiliar care practices, or responsibly declines to provide assigned care and notifies supervisor until able to obtain the appropriate skill.
Executes the medical treatment plan by implementing MD orders for respiratory care. Seeks clarification on any unclear or questionable order by consulting with the ordering physician (or on-call physician after hours), prior to implementation. If the question is not resolved, the RCP refers the question to the Lead RCP for assistance, to the Clinical Supervisor, the Manager, of Respiratory Care Services, the Director of Respiratory Care Services, or to the V.P. Patient Care Services/ CNO as necessary for resolution.
Performs blood gas and electrolyte analysis as ordered by the physician, and is consistent with hospital policies. Reports problems in specimen management or equipment operation to the lead RCP or department director.
Assists in the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and processing of respiratory therapy equipment according to department policies.
Works in a team environment with all other members of the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care. Works closely with other disciplines to define an individualized problem list and interventions. Correlates individualized patient care goals into an interdisciplinary patient care plan. Participates as requested in organized “staffing” meetings to discuss patient progress and revise goals.
Assesses patients' progress in accordance with established goals and initiates appropriate actions. Documents thoroughly in Meditech regarding patient's condition and interventions performed (e.g., medications given, treatments performed, etc.) Reports significant information to all appropriate individuals (change of shift report, change in condition to RN and/or MD, etc.). Ensures patient acuity is accurate for the assigned shifts in OptiLink.
Works closely with other disciplines and the care coordinator to ensure that interventions and patient care are timely and progress effectively in order to ensure patient and family readiness for discharge.
Maintains the basic human rights and confidentiality of each patient, family, and significant others in providing information and in delivering patient care. Is aware of and complies with applicable standards, regulations and laws related to healthcare workers and the care of hospitalized patients, including but not limited to pain management, confidentiality, abuse reporting, etc.
Observes and reports the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and assist in providing supportive care to them and their families.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Infection Prevention Practitioner (IPP) reports directly to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety. The IPP has accountability for the implementation of the Infection Prevention Programs at RML Specialty Hospital.
The IPP is responsible for maintaining the system of identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases of patients and personnel. In addition, the IPP monitors the visitor protocol regarding potential infectious disease and is a liaison between all departments and the Director of Quality and Patient Safety with respect to issues of infection prevention.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the review and revision to the organizational Infection Prevention program to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and external regulatory requirements.
In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety develops, revises, and implements site-specific Infection Prevention plans.
Assists in the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures regarding asepsis and infection prevention in accordance with accepted current standards of practice.
Maintains a system to reduce the spread of infection and communicable disease among patients, visitors, and staff.
In collaboration with Director of Quality and Patient Safety compiles and analyzes surveillance data to identify epidemiologically significant problems; develops appropriate measures for prevention and control of these problems. Identifies and assists with implementation of improved surveillance and reporting processes.
Prepares Infection Prevention reports to the Pharmacy, Nutrition, Therapeutics - Infection Prevention Committee and the Quality and Patient Safety Committee (QPSC).

Leads performance improvement teams and/or work groups related to infection prevention issues.

Responsible for communicating all Department of Public Health alerts to the organizational leaders as appropriate.

Reviews and disseminates current Infection Prevention information to appropriate individuals or departments within the facility.
In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety develops and presents in-service education for the prevention and control of infection for all health care workers, patients, and families. Participates in orientation of new employees and annual employee training.

About the Role
As a Belmont Village Caregiver, you will provide hands-on personal assistance to a group of seniors living within our large Assisted Living and Memory Care community. The Caregiver role is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail oriented, patient, caring and enjoys a high level of personal engagement with older adults.
Your Typical Daily Responsibilities
Provide personal assistance with Activities of Daily Living to an assigned group of senior residents living in our Assisted Living and Memory Care community
Encourage socialization and inspire participation in community activities while ensuring resident safety and well-being
Document care and services provided daily by following customized service plans and communicating to supervisor any observed changes in care needs
Ensure care, safety and cleanliness standards are met according to regulatory compliance
Provide hands-on assistance with toileting, hygiene and incontinence care as needed
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
Experience as a primary caregiver or relevant training as a care provider
Ability to work the defined schedule for this position which may include weekends and holidays

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, provides basic nursing care to patients. Assists professional nurses and respiratory therapists with complex patient care up to the validated level of training. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients and their families.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern and honor in all interactions with patients, families and co-workers, and as identified in departmental and hospital wide behavioral expectations.
Provides technical nursing care up to the validated level of training for the individual, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Records information promptly and accurately in the medical record. All care provided is consistent with and appropriate to the age and developmental status of adult and geriatric patients. The patient care technician:
Provides timely and complete personal hygiene care and activities of daily living, including bathing, turning, weighing, toileting, ambulating, positioning, and feeding patients. Provides post mortem care. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, and isolation practices in all situations.
Obtains vital signs and other patient data collection, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration. Measures and records patient intake and output. Performs calorie counts. Empties urinary drainage bags, linen hampers, etc. Removes and replaces patient soft restraints according to policy after initial restraints have been applied by RN.
Supports the established respiratory care needs of patients. Replaces tracheostomy mask, nasal cannula or ventilator tubing that has become disconnected or displaced, and notifies RN or RCP. Replaces pulse oximeter probe on patient's finger; observes pulse oximeter readings while providing care and notifies nurse or RCP of low readings. Reports pulse oximeter, ventilator or telemetry alarms to the RCP or RN.
Performs simple procedures such as non-sterile dressing changes under the direction of a registered nurse.
Performs common bedside tests including blood glucose monitoring, and checking stools for occult blood. Reports findings immediately to the patient's nurse, and documents in Meditech.
Observes and reports patient signs and symptoms and responses to treatments. Reports changes in the patient's condition to the registered nurse and respiratory therapist.
Assists with admissions and discharges. Orients patient and family to room, unit and environment. Handles patient belongings carefully and records them upon admission. Collects and packages patient belongings at discharge.
Observes or reports the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and assists in providing supportive care.
Answers call lights and responds to needs for all patients, not just those assigned. Assists other staff members in providing care to any patient on the unit. Offers assistance to other staff without being asked.
Performs related services and duties such as cleaning equipment, obtaining and replacing patient room supplies, and similar related activities. Ensures that all supplies used are charged according to policy.
Insures the enhancement of personal knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education programs and reading pertinent literature, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of the patient's clinical and personal information and medical record. Uses information systems, including computer systems, for hospital business only and within all hospital policies for information confidentiality and system security. Complies with HIPAA guidelines.
Conducts all communications with patients, families and staff in a positive, respectful manner. Answer telephones in a pleasant, professional manner. Directs callers to appropriate personnel and/or relays unit information. Pages personnel and physicians.
Documents accurately and timely in Meditech.
Provides an environment that is safe for the patient based on age and developmental status. Activities includes, but are not limited to: responding to call lights and alarms quickly with appropriate intervention, using patient's name and date of birth to identify patient prior to performing patient testing, complies with swallowing and skin breakdown precautions, and implements appropriate interventions consistent with the falls prevention protocol.
Facilitates patient/family participation in self-care based on age and developmental status.
Demonstrates appropriate psychosocial support based on age and developmental status.
Actively participates in staff meetings and continuing education activities. Participates on committees or task forces and attends meetings as may be assigned. Meets all annual and ongoing employee requirements (TB Testing, Annual Review, Annual Clinical Validation, and performance evaluation, etc.) by demonstrating completion prior to due date.
Responsible for supporting a safe work environment for self and others, by reporting unsafe conditions, and by using appropriate safe work practices such as proper body mechanics and applicable safety devices (patient lift and transfer equipment; safety needles and sharps disposal, PPE, etc.). Complies with Employee Health Services policies regarding illness and injury reporting.

Reporting to the Nursing Director or Manager and according to the established policies, procedures, nursing standards of care and practice, and the direction of the medical staff, renders competent, humane, individualized care to every patient and their family. GENERAL SUMMARY:
The pharmacy technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. They provide age and developmentally appropriate in-direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients. Pharmacy technician does not perform duties that may be legally performed only by a registered pharmacist. Provides medication preparation and delivery:
Aseptically performs IV preparation adhering to the USP Chapter 797 guidelines.
Prepares hazardous medications according to the NIOSH recommendations and USP Chapter 800 standards, not limited to:
Compounding hazardous drug stock bottle suspension
Prime IV tubing
Performs non-sterile compounding according to USP Chapter 795 standards.
Able to perform calculations required for sterile and on-sterile drug compounding.
Fills new medication orders, unit-dose medication for med carts, automated drug dispensing machine re-stock lists, and replenish crash cart medications.
Delivers controlled substances.
Serves as a courier for accurate deliveries and pickups per established schedule and as requested.
Performs inspections for patient care areas, pharmacy, drug night cabinets, automated drug dispensing machines, crash carts, and ancillary departments.
Adheres to federal, state laws and regulations, and RML hospital policy and Standards of Practice on IV room cleaning standards.
Adheres to financial compliance, appropriately processes patient charges and credits.
Able to perform computer-based tasks: billing, reports, labels, and others as requested.
Prepack bulk medication in unit-dose packages and maintains prepackaging records.
Contributes to the management of the department budget, which includes appropriated purchasing through the drug wholesaler and decreased wastage.
Participates in inventory control.
Monitors stock levels in the dispensing and IV rooms.
Checks and unpacks the IV and drug deliveries from vendors.
Use the wholesaler's web site to order and return medication.
Procures medications not available through the drug wholesaler
Maintains proper storage and security measures for the drugs in the main pharmacy and in patient care areas.
Contributes to the prevention of drug diversion.
Complies with the pharmacy and hospital compliance programs.
Knowledgeable in the proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste.
Ensures that the pharmacy passes surveys and inspections by accrediting and regulatory agencies with no deficiencies or recommendations, not limited to: Illinois state inspections, Joint Commission, DEA, Illinois Department of Public Health, and CMS.
Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, visitor, and employee information. Complies with HIPAA and hospital policies regarding confidentiality of the patient's medical information, verbally, on-line, and in print. Complies with all hospital policies related to computer use and system security. Intervenes to prevent inappropriate communications among staff, especially in public places.
Participates in departmental quality improvement and performance improvement activities, especially including opportunities to promote patient safety. Notes areas for improvement in day-to-day departmental operations and brings to the attention of the Pharmacy Manager or Director of Pharmacy Services.
Fosters a team environment by providing orientation and training to new employees. Assists coworkers in tasks, as time permits.

Reporting to the Manager, Respiratory Care - Chicago or Director of Respiratory Care Services, and according to established policies, procedures, respiratory standards of care and practice and the direction of the medical staff, the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) renders competent, humane, individualized care to every patient and the family. The RCP assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of respiratory care services to facilitate continuity of care through the continuum of services offered at RML. Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern, and honor in all interactions with patients, families, and co-workers, as identified in departmental and hospital-wide behavioral expectations.
Maintains accountability for the management of all respiratory care services required by assigned patients. Accepts and responds to written and verbal physician orders, participates in emergency and “code” situations, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation, performs pulmonary assessments, administers and monitors patients' response to bronchodilators, performs blood gas analyses, performs stat electrolytic analyses, performs complex respiratory treatments, and manages patients on mechanical ventilation per physician order and approved RML ventilator weaning protocol.
Demonstrates clinical competence by consistently applying respiratory knowledge and performing within the scope of practice of a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Illinois. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and skills appropriate to the respiratory needs of patients at RML (equipment, procedures, respiratory medications, etc.). Obtains necessary information and demonstrates competence prior to implementing new or unfamiliar care practices, or responsibly declines to provide assigned care and notifies supervisor until able to obtain the appropriate skill.
Executes the medical treatment plan by implementing MD orders for respiratory care. Seeks clarification on any unclear or questionable order by consulting with the ordering physician (or on-call physician after hours), prior to implementation. If the question is not resolved, the RCP refers the question to the Lead RCP for assistance, to the Clinical Supervisor, the Manager, of Respiratory Care Services, the Director of Respiratory Care Services, or to the V.P. Patient Care Services/ CNO as necessary for resolution.
Performs blood gas and electrolyte analysis as ordered by the physician, and is consistent with hospital policies. Reports problems in specimen management or equipment operation to the lead RCP or department director.
Assists in the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and processing of respiratory therapy equipment according to department policies.
Works in a team environment with all other members of the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care. Works closely with other disciplines to define an individualized problem list and interventions. Correlates individualized patient care goals into an interdisciplinary patient care plan. Participates as requested in organized “staffing” meetings to discuss patient progress and revise goals.
Assesses patients' progress in accordance with established goals and initiates appropriate actions. Documents thoroughly in Meditech regarding patient's condition and interventions performed (e.g., medications given, treatments performed, etc.) Reports significant information to all appropriate individuals (change of shift report, change in condition to RN and/or MD, etc.). Ensures patient acuity is accurate for the assigned shifts in OptiLink.
Works closely with other disciplines and the care coordinator to ensure that interventions and patient care are timely and progress effectively in order to ensure patient and family readiness for discharge.
Maintains the basic human rights and confidentiality of each patient, family, and significant others in providing information and in delivering patient care. Is aware of and complies with applicable standards, regulations and laws related to healthcare workers and the care of hospitalized patients, including but not limited to pain management, confidentiality, abuse reporting, etc.
Observes and reports the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and assist in providing supportive care to them and their families.

3. Current CPR.
1. Illinois state licensure is required.
2. ACLS preferred.

Work is performed in a patient care environment. May be exposed to hazardous materials, including but not limited to bloodborne pathogens and medical gases under pressure.
