American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a current NY RN license and EPIC proficiency.
Responsibilities
Position is on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
Night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week for a 13-week assignment
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
Care involves cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
Uses Epic for charting; experience with Epic is required
Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday if needed
Floating within skillset to similar units may be required
Duties include providing comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
Must be able to manage and respond to cardiac monitoring alarms and emergencies
Scrub attire is any combination of navy blue and white
First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements
Active New York single state RN license required at time of consideration
Current BLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
Recent acute care experience within the past 6 months required
Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation/management and rapid response/code activation required
IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
Epic EMR experience required
Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
