Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with oncology preference and a North Carolina or compact RN license required.
Responsibilities
Work in a 40-bed oncology unit within a hospital cancer center
Primary patient population includes hematology, oncology, leukemia, end-of-life, and symptom management cases
Typical RN patient ratio is 1:4-5, dependent on acuity
Shifts are 12 hours, with start time 0630 for days, every other weekend required
No call responsibilities
Holiday coverage required for approximately 75% of holidays
Floating required within the cancer center first, then to other med-surg units in the hospital
Centralized telemetry monitoring with RN verification of strips each shift
Electronic Medical Record system used is Epic (experience preferred)
Daily responsibilities include oncology nursing care, port access, and management of complex symptom and pain issues
Support staff includes CNA, HUC/receptionist, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team (days), hospitalist, and 24/7 respiratory therapy
On-unit equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, Philips monitors, and lift equipment
Orientation includes New Employee Orientation and 2 departmental training days
Scrub color required is royal blue
Free onsite parking available
First-time travelers with required experience will be considered
Must be willing to float and handle a dynamic care environment

Active North Carolina or compact RN license required
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele or Oncology nursing experience required

No floating required
Weekend requirement is every third weekend
Unit orientation is 40-80 hours and techs begin on unit Mondays prior to Dimensions training
Scrubs are provided
Assist providers with diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
Scrub and circulate IR and Cath Lab, including urgent and emergent cases
Medication administration performed by RNs only
Call team includes three staff members, one of whom is an RN
Equitable rotation for additional coverage among staff as needed
RTO (requested time off) after booking is not allowed and additional time off may result in contract cancellation
First-day unit orientation and further Dimensions training provided after unit start
Contracts can be extended up to 20 weeks if desired

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of IR/Neuro IR experience and ARRT-R or RCIS certification.
Responsibilities
Academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma designation and comprehensive Stroke Center
Work in an Interventional Radiology department with 10 procedure rooms
Treats a high-acuity mix of neurovascular, oncology, and complex interventional radiology cases
Adult patient population with 46-50 cases per day
Two techs are assigned per case
Uses Siemens, GE, Philips imaging systems and GE ultrasound units
EPIC Encompass EMR is used in the department
Rotating shifts with manager open to 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts starting at 8:00 AM
On-call required one day per week (4:00 PM until last case complete) and every 7th-8th weekend from Friday evening to Monday morning
Expected to work 75% of scheduled holidays
No floating required within the facility
Responsibilities include assisting, scrubbing, circulating, and operating back-end equipment for a variety of neuro and body IR procedures
Work closely with a team including tech extenders, neuro providers, surgeons, and physicians
Department welcomes both experienced and first-time travelers
New hires receive up to 2 weeks of orientation based on experience
Hospital-provided scrubs

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR within a Level 1 Trauma setting
Current BLS certification required

Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
License required if applicable
Comfort working in academic teaching and complex trauma environments
