Structural Engineer (SE)
The Position
The Structural Engineer (SE) for Above Group shall contribute and support the Engineering efforts for the Firm. The SE shall possess a bachelor's degree in Civil engineering, and a master's degree with a structural emphasis or equivalent, from an ABET accredited institution. This individual shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through the application of knowledge and technical experience to effectively produce a quality design and ultimate product to the customer. The SE is also responsible for contributing to the growth of the team by leading and mentoring subordinate staff in expanding their capabilities and contributions. The SE shall execute design duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained.
The SE shall be a Structural Engineer registered as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a licensed Structural Engineer (SE) passing the 16 hours NCEES exam, in the United States and/or its territories, at a minimum. Additional credentials are encouraged and desired.
The SE is a Structural Engineer by education and experience, with the following characteristics:
Ability to combine personal judgment with information to establish and implement design criteria.
Has expertise conventional steel buildings, Concrete, Masonry, light gage, and wood.

EBI Consulting is looking for a Structural Engineer to be a subject matter expert for Seismic work as part of our due diligence service offerings. This position will require you to perform Seismic Risk Assessment (SRA)/Probable Maximum Loss (PML) and Property Condition Assessment (PCA) field observations of various property types, including industrial, commercial, and residential properties. You will perform independent research of local and state resources, interview persons familiar with the property, and conduct historical research to compile the information required for PML and PCA reports in accordance with ASTM standards and client specific scopes of work, including Housing and Urban Development (HUD). PML work will focus on the evaluation of buildings for expected seismic performance and risk, including utilizing industry standard seismic risk assessment software and methodologies, as well as reviewing available construction plans, soils reports, and other available documentation.
This is a full-time, salaried position, reporting to the Senior Technical Director within our Transaction Advisory Services practice. The ideal candidate will be based in a significant metro in the Western United States and comfortable traveling the region as part of a work-from-home environment. A strong candidate has the following skills and qualifications
4-year engineering or construction degree or equivalent training and experience
5-8 years of relevant construction engineering experience
Advance knowledge of construction engineering technology, building codes and standards
Complete understanding of the interdependence and relationship between function units
Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Able to manage software solutions utilized to include Prolog Sky, Bluebeam, Textura CPM, Sage Construction and Real Estate, and scheduling (Primavera P6)
Is a problem solver and can easily execute a situation diagnosis
Very familiar with construction documents
Can provide technical input in support of field activities
Has a clear understanding of the technical aspects of all construction disciplines
Needs minimal direction and supervision
Can train subordinate engineers

The Project Engineer will be a liaison between the Project Manager and vendors, subcontractors, clients, and company personnel.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting in the tracking of construction materials, equipment, and services according to project requirements and company standards.
· Scheduling subcontractors.
· Making daily site visits to multiple projects that are in the development stage.
· Organize and evaluate project reports, including but not limited to weekly evaluations, time & materials reports, quantity reports, and progress meeting packets.

Requirements:

What you'll bring to our firm:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required

Minimum of 12 years of related highway design experience
Familiarity with AASHTO and OMUTCD standards
Prior design experience with Ohio Department of Transportation and/or Ohio Local projects
Hands on experience using CADD/Design Software (preferably OpenRoads) required
Strong written and oral communication skills
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $170,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
