Oversee and perform a variety of simple to complex roadway maintenance activities. Supervise a crew and provide technical guidance to crew members performing maintenance activities and equipment operation. How you will contribute:
Communication: Effectively communicate with citizens, public officials, state employees and business people demonstrating sensitivity for their opinions and suggestions. Respond with accurate and complete information to inquiries and requests. Communicate effectively, courteously, and professionally with customers. Provide customers with Information related to the status of their work requests as required. May require travel and work outside of the traditional district boundaries which may cause a temporary change to the work schedule.
Emergency Operations: Supervise emergency operations to ensure the safe operation of roadways. Support emergency operations including storm damage repairs, clearing roadways of snow, ice and debris, accident clean-up, and providing traffic control during and after normal working hours.
Leadership: Assist the Area Superintendent in planning for the maintenance program, special projects, and personnel needs. Investigate and recommend solutions to operations and maintenance complaints. Estimate repair, construction and materials costs. Assist in ordering, storing and utilizing AHQ materials. Assist and advise crew on difficult and unusual problems when necessary.
Provide Leadership in Traffic Control Devices: Work with supervisors and managers at assigned locations to plan, schedule, supervise and perform the placement, maintenance and removal of traffic control devices for work zones, detours, lane closures, etc., according to the MUTCD. Receive and respond to work orders. Order and track inventory and maintain records.
Records Preparation and Management: Prepare and maintain program and project documentation. Assist in the preparation of budget reports, data and records. Assist in forecasting additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies. Monitor expenditures and recommend adjustments as needed.
Safety: Identify proper work site protection techniques. Ensure workplace safety by identifying hazards and making suggestions for improvement. Wear proper personal protection equipment. Maintain current knowledge of safety rules, regulations, laws and procedures (OSHA and VOSHA, etc.). Ensure equipment is used properly and safely. Work with others to provide new ideas and improvements. Perform an IMS analysis related to ordering road stock to determine the best quantity to order.
Vehicle and Equipment Operations and Preventive Maintenance: Demonstrate considerable skill in the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment (light, medium and heavy duty) to perform roadway maintenance and construction activities. Apply specialized knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance techniques. Perform maintenance repair, replacement and preventive maintenance. Complete pre-trips inspections for vehicles and equipment operated.

Title Description- Family Services Specialist I represents the entry level employees working under close supervision while being trained in program areas such as, Adult/Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, Foster Care/'Adoption, Child Care, and Employment Services. Upon completion of the training program and attainment of necessary approvals, the employee shall be redefined to a full-performance Family Services Specialist II and becomes eligible for a pay increase as defined by the local agency compensation plan. The Family Services Specialist I is distinguished from the Family Services Specialist II by the latter's functioning more independently as a full performance Family Services Specialist.
Family Services Specialist II is the full performance level in the occupational group for Family Services. Employees are responsible for developing and implementing individualized service plans involving the application of casework methods in Employment Services and Child Care, and basic service level caseloads of Adult/Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, Foster Care, Adoptions. Employees may provide services in all program areas or specialize in one or several program areas. General Purpose It is the responsibility of the cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. He/she is reports to the Dietary supervisor. * Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
* Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
* Ability to follow prepared menus and portion control guides. Ability to prepare special diets accurately.
* Record food temperatures for the meals. Prepare pureed foods. Ability to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments.
* Maintain quaternary solution in sanitizer buckets. Assist with serving the different meals. Clean cooking area and serving carts.
* Report resident care concerns and potential issues to Administrator and/or Director of Nurses. Participate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff.
* Ability to make the presentation of the food appealing to the residents. Ability to cooperate. Willing to supervise and to work under supervision.
* To make sure all cleaning schedules are followed. Supervisory Requirements This job has supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Qualification
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Should have experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
Language Skills
Ability to read technical procedures.
Ability to read and follow recipes.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.
