A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Remote Sr. Visual FoxPro Developer in San Diego, California (CA). Responsibilities include: * Architect FoxPro Software products * Develop innovative technical solutions and sets product direction to address industry business problems
* Direct and participate in research and prototype development to validate solutions and new technologies
* Remote Sr. Visual FoxPro Developer will contribute across the entire development cycle (analysis, design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and production support) with the primary focus on analysis, solution design, and mentoring development staff
* Perform complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis
* Participate in product design meetings
* Review and analyze existing solutions and client requirements, while providing recommendations for extension and customization to team members and clients
* Work closely with the team lead in working with project teams
* Remote Sr. Visual FoxPro Developer will perform software testing and quality assurance
* Participate in software development activities such as designing, coding, and debugging applications in various software languages, as required
* Lead or participate substantively in non-project-based activities which strengthen the organization (e.g., training, development of coding, unit test, and integration standards, pioneering of new technologies and capabilities)
* Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis
* Support, maintain, and document software functionality
* Integrate software with existing systems* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Master's degree preferred
* 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ of those years spent designing and developing software solutions applications
* 5+ years of Visual FoxPro experience
* Experience in project development and/or methodologies experience in full system development lifecycle, Agile, etc.
* Previous team lead and/or software architect experience
* Strong integration design, development, UI design, and development experience
* Experience in conducting development activities using stringent source code control procedures
* Excellent working knowledge of computer programs
* Superior verbal and written communication skills
* Experience in FoxPro programming
* Experience migrating VFP to .Net is a plus

**Job Description:**
+ Accountable for proactively leading or supporting software engineering activities that create deliverables that guide the direction, development, and delivery of software solutions that meet business needs.
+ Provide leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks required to deliver critical business solutions.
+ Develop target-state guidance (i.e., reusable standards, design patterns, guidelines, individual parts, and configurations) to evolve the organization's development process.
+ Conducts research, design, prototyping and other exploration activities to support dev/prep phase.
+ Collaborates with the Product Manager to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.

+ Adheres to standards regarding code quality and uses design and coding best practices to build high-quality components and services.

+ Collaborates with Consultants' Quality Assurance on test case creation.
