How will you get here? * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field from an accredited university preferred but can be substituted by minimum of 5 years’ experience * Minimum of 3-5 years of industry or other relevant market experience, preferably in Purchasing. Expectations of the Role * Handle purchasing of components for the Laboratory Chemicals Division sites in North America * Serve as the site point of contact for procurement and call out issues as needed related to packaging * Coordinate the summary of site packaging needs, and advise the individual site on any issues of concerns * Process Component orders as needed * Order management including acknowledgements, expediting, and updating purchase orders. * Review the suggested purchase order report to confirm delivery of pending orders or generate new orders if needed * Lead and resolve site specific supplier and or component issues. * Review existing inventory and current forecast to plan current and future purchasing needs on a weekly basis * Coordinate with Planning/Supply Chain to provide quarterly and annual forecast to key packaging suppliers * Established regular cadence with key components suppliers * Run weekly delivery schedules for key suppliers to drive on time deliveries * Communicate and review with team member regarding existing inventory, future needs, problems / delays with components that may affect present or upcoming production plan * Work with Sourcing related to price discrepancies, vendor problems, delays, new vendor implementation * Work well with Quality, QC & QA regarding material rejections and other quality issues * Collaborated with packaging engineers for new product implementation, existing component issues, and inactive component clarification * Work with Inventory Control on any cycle counts, component discrepancies, storage, and other inventory issue to avoid out of stock on components * Attend daily production / planning meeting * Attend Tier 2 meetings and provide packaging update * Provide reasons for B/O report related to components * Run and update the delivery date changes for components daily * Review deliveries and address any overdue orders * Work with the sites to identify problems and bring up issues of concern to regional purchasing manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Expertise in contract management and ERP systems required, AS400 preferred. * Strong operations background desired. * Able to build links, influence others, and collaborate efficiently with colleagues across multiple locations. * Strong attention to details with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects simultaneously. * High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency. * Excellent interpersonal skills – written, verbal, and visual * Comfortable using the Microsoft Suite. * Owns results and finds a better way (process improvements) * Build successful work environments and move strategy to action * Strong communication and presentation skills * Strong process orientation with experience driving continuous improvement; track record of meetings and exceeding on results * Metrics and data driven, including a focus on driving measurable improvement in all processes and established important metrics. * Customer-centric, innovative problem solver with a strive to continually improve processes and ways of working * Ability to work with strategic team members in a matrixed environment.
