ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Operates equipment such as excavators, back-hoes, front end loaders, dozers and other earth moving equipment in a safe and efficient manner. * Determines load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload. * Receive construction materials, equipment, and deliver them to work sites. * Identify faults in equipment and take measures to fix them. * Use earth moving equipment to level soil, move rock and debris, dig below surface to grades of 10 feet below surface, cut slopes, and store spoils with regulations and specifications. * Demonstrate an understanding of grades and slopes to interpret plans and drawings. * Have a working knowledge of trenching techniques, installation of safety devices like trench boxes and trench plates, spoil removal and storage, loading techniques, and lifting techniques for equipment and materials. * Awareness of underground utilities as well as overhead hazards such as electrical wires, enclosures, and personnel. * Carryout out minimal repairs on machine when necessary. * Adhere to safety regulations and report hazards to relevant authorities. * Adhere to company work policies and conditions. * Will be responsible for cleanliness of machine, fueling, lubrication, servicing, and maintenance of the machine. * Pack dirt and other waste products from work environment to dumping area. * Document information of equipment purchase, repairs and maintenance for record keeping. * Inspect working environment even before work begins to ensure safety to all * Establish good working relationship on site. * Manipulate or depress controls to regulate speed and direction of equipment and movements according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
