JOB PURPOSE:

Operate robots according to job guidelines in efficient, productive and safe manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Operate robots and monitor robot while running. Set up and tear down jobs by loading and unloading fixtures. Load and unload parts. Perform a visual quality inspection of parts. Ensure quality of welds. Remove weld spatter using chisel and/or grinder as necessary. Tag completed rework jobs appropriately. Perform daily equipment inspection. Advise supervisor or lead of shortages or poor quality materials/products. Operate cart caddy and hoist.


NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:


Manufacturing environment experience preferred Mechanical aptitude preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs rarely. Push/pull up to 30 lbs. Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead, reach/lift with outstretched arms and grasp tools as necessary.

The Robot Welder Tender has primary responsibility to prep, repair, and finish or complete weldments before and after the robotic welder.

What does a Robot Welder Tender do for SpecSys? They:

  • Utilizes appropriate welding equipment to fit, tack and weld parts together
  • Identify appropriate weld processes
  • Layout welding sequences to ensure products are manufactured correctly
  • Identify problems, review information and use math skills to solve problems
  • Accurately read/interpret blueprints and weld symbols
  • Ability to understand and willingness to follow existing QC processes

What are we looking for in a great candidate? Someone who:

  • Has detailed understanding of welding processes and shop capabilities
  • Understands fixturing and use of fixtures
  • Has basic knowledge of computers and controls
  • Can read and understand written information
  • Has knowledge of how products are made
  • Can regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Has mechanical knowledge of designing and controlling of equipment
  • Or any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance

SITE Staffing robotic welder job description

Milwaukee, WI
2nd shift, Mon - Fri, 2:30pm - 12 midnight
$14.50 p/hr

THIS IS NOT A HAND WELDING POSITION, this EE will be operating an automatic welding machine, no welding experience needed.
To perform welding operations on automatic MIG and robotic welding machines to weld a limited variety of standard and repetitive work. Prepare and position fixtures prior to welding operation. Job Specific
  • Operate both automatic MIG welding and robotic welding machines to weld parts which are standardized and where the operation is repetitive.
  • Prepare and position fixtures prior to welding and preassemble small mechanical units or components having a limited number of parts prior to placing on welding machine.
  • Assists with set up of fixtures and/or mechanical feeds and safety devices as needed.
  • May check work visually during the operation or by using basic inspection instruments on parts during production as directed by the routing or work order.
  • Be alert to any malfunction of machine or problem with weld quality so production can be stopped prior to producing scrap or incurring damage to the machine or fixtures.
  • Ensure finished parts are placed in correct container.
  • Report labor hours by entering information correctly in terminal.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices are performed in the Auto-Weld Department
  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations and requirements.
Company Specific
  • Understand that every employee has the right and obligation to stop production and contact a Leadperson or Supervisor immediately if they deem it to be unsafe and/or if they have any quality concerns.
  • Complete jobs to customer specifications in a timely manner
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area at all times.

  • Watch and anticipate potential problems with equipment, work flow, materials or parts within the Welding Department and be proactive with solutions.

Qualifications
  • Some high school or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to understand simple blueprints and/or specifications.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Six to twelve months of repetitive weld or production machine operation experience.
  • Some QC and inspection experience using basic inspection tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Must have and wear protective gear designated for the Department and job.
  • Must be able to stand for all or most of a regular work shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
