In 1972, Edward J. Robson, Founder & Chairman of Robson Communities, Inc., began his legacy of creating exceptional retirement communities for active adults.
Robson acquired 2,560 acres of farmland in a limited partnership for the Sun Lakes development near Chandler, Arizona, in 1972.
In late 1976, Robson made the decision to switch from offering mobile homes to on-site built single family homes.
Recognizing the development potential of the Tucson area, SaddleBrooke opened in 1987, the second Robson Resort Community in Arizona.
Quail Creek, located in southern Arizona, was acquired in the summer of 1999 and had sold less than 100 homes in ten years.
After many years of extensive research and feasibility studies in the Texas market, the first Robson Resort Community opened outside of Arizona, in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with the official grand opening in May 2001.
The first homes at Robson Ranch in Denton were built in 2002 and to date there are 1500 homes that have been constructed.
In 2004, The Preserve at SaddleBrooke was unveiled, located within the northern section of SaddleBrooke in North Tucson.
With Sun Lakes near sell-out status, Robson Ranch Arizona was launched in August 2005 to meet the housing demand for active adults in the southeast area of metro Phoenix.
In 2008, SaddleBrooke Ranch opened just north of Tucson, just a few miles from its sister community, SaddleBrooke.
Throughout the 2010’s, an extensive selection of new amenities was introduced at several Robson Resort Communities, adding to the resort-style environment.
In 2010, SaddleBrooke Ranch, opened La Hacienda Club which offers a wealth of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, the fully equipped Viva Fitness Center, tennis and Pickleball courts, Esperanza Spa, and so much more.
At Quail Creek, the Anza Athletic Club debuted in 2011 and expanded the fitness facilities with cardio and fitness machines, multi-purpose fitness studios, and a wellness room.
In addition, in 2013, a Pickleball complex made its debut featuring 16 courts, ramada and restrooms.
2015 was an exciting year for several communities including Robson Ranch Arizona, PebbleCreek and Quail Creek as significant amenities were added.
Also in 2016, Robson Ranch Texas completed several expansions to the Wildhorse Grill including a new dining room, centralized bar with wrap-around seating for 16 along with additional table seating, extended patios, kitchen and covered BBQ area.
The beautiful Oasis Pool complex at PebbleCreek opened in 2017 with a resort-style pool, a large covered ramada, a BBQ area with gas grills and more.
At Robson Ranch Arizona, the fitness center received many new upgrades in 2017.
2018 was another monumental year for the Robson Resort Communities! At Robson Ranch Texas, the Pinnacle Fitness Center opened and features the latest cardio and weight machines, plus a lounge area.
Quail Creek added to its already incredible lineup of amenities by expanding a resident favorite the Grill, in 2019.
Robson Ranch Texas added a new state-of-the-art multipurpose room to the Cimarron Sports Club in 2019.
According to available information, 50% of projects in 2020 had no reported payment incidents.
