The Nurse Practitioner in this role will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients in a virtual, urgent care setting. This position combines clinical expertise with the convenience of telehealth technology to provide accessible and timely care to individuals seeking immediate medical attention. You will be responsible for conducting virtual consultations, diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and minor medical conditions, and offering guidance to patients, all while adhering to established clinical protocols and standards of care.

ATTRIBUTES
Preference is for the NP to be local Rochester, NY or surrounding areas
At least 3 years of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred; primary care and virtual medicine experience also considered

RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnosis. Assess and diagnose acute illnesses and minor injuries; and implement treatment plan; monitor response for acute and chronic medical conditions; select and order appropriate diagnostic and health maintenance procedures
Treatment. Prescribe medication, provide health education and guidance regarding treatment; recommend community resources and refer patients to collaborating physician or specialist
Administrative Assistance. Perform administrative responsibilities such as updating patient charts, billing codes and completing required documents from outside agencies. Performs in-basket responsibilities such as reviewing test results, medication refills, returning patient calls and completing related clinical follow-up

Role Purpose
The physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing Specialty to the best of physician's ability through direct patient care and spend additional time as necessary to perform other related duties such as completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations and inbasket management, conducting patient-specific education and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members.
Responsibilities
Manages the medical care of patient panel by providing or otherwise arranging for inpatient hospital care of physician's patients, either through regular hospital rounds, making arrangements with one or more hospitalist(s) or other qualified physician to provide coverage for physician's hospitalized patients consistent with Medical Staff requirements.
Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the care team to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at the clinic location(s) designated by BJC and any other BJC clinical outreach location to which physician may be assigned as patient care demands.
Performs and documents medical histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
Provides or arranges for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in a manner acceptable to BJC and in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws, while observing and following all BJC policies and procedures and all applicable legal, ethical and professional standards.
Collaborates and teaches advanced practice providers, support staff or any care team member assigned in the care of physician's patient panel.
BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

The ideal candidate will be a board certified Nurse Practitioner looking to join a dedicated and collegial team. Previous experience as an APRN in Cardiology and/or Medicine preferred. Position includes both inpatient and outpatient work at the Danbury Hospital campus and outpatient office.
