SUMMARY:
As a Sonographer, you play an important part in high quality imaging exams needed to deliver quality care to our patients. Performs or assists in the performance of Vascular, Abdominal, OB/GYN or Neurovascular Sonography exams. The primary objective is to obtain high quality images and maximize the efficiency of the Radiologist or Neurologist while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a consistent level of quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ultrasound Scans - Perform abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans; produce ultrasound images and obtain all required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
· Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
· Documentation - Note performance of scans in patient charts and complete preliminary reporting; phone preliminary reports in to doctor's offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist.
· Room Preparation - Clean, stock and prepare room daily.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Effective June 1, 2023: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound required for all new hires.
· For Radiology sites/affiliates with ACR accreditation, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required (within 6 months of graduation from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Program (CAAHEP), or within 18 months of graduation from a non-accredited program). If hired prior to September 1, 2022, a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is required by March 1, 2023.
· For Neurovascular & Vascular, the RDMS is not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works as a member of the multi-disciplinary Nephrology team to maintain/improve the nutritional status of patients by assessing nutritional needs and by planning, implementing and evaluating nutritional care.
Communicates formally and informally with Health Care Staff to promote coordination of nutritional care with total patient care.
Counsels individuals/families in nutrition principles, adapting instructions to accommodate individual, economic, educational and life style requirements.
Reviews and assesses monthly clinical and laboratory data on all chronic patients. Reviews this data with individual patients, provides dietary counseling and documents in the medical record in a timely manner.
Participates in multidisciplinary patient care conferences within thirty days of admission to the chronic setting and every six months thereafter for each patient.
Monitors Urea Reduction Ratio information and performs kinetic modeling as needed; interprets and documents the adequacy results in the medical record.
Remains available to consult on nursing home/acute renal failure admissions as requested.
Participates in orientation of new staff and provides ongoing educational in-services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year of clinical nutrition experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Bachelor's Degree from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) accredited program.
Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety.
Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam.
Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.
Provides on-call coverage for MRI Section of Radiology.
Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR.
Cleans restocks and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
Provides excellent customer service.
Verify patient identification and order/requisition; utilizing clinical indications to assess the appropriateness of procedure and consulting with the provider/radiologist for order verification, as needed.
Administers IV contrast media (they must also be competency assessed on orientation and/or annually).
Trained in PACS software and transfers imaging data for archiving and post-data processing.
Follows direct orders from Radiologist or referring provider for MRI imaging and contrast administration via protocol.
Receives verbal orders and documents appropriately in the EMR.
Collaborates with all modalities for mutual patient flow.
Performs transport duties as needed.
Monitor patient status; notify nurse/physician in changes of patient condition
Appropriately maintains all MRI equipment and accessories.
All other duties as assigned.

NYS license in Radiologic Technology.
