Rockett company history timeline

1812

Used by British ships to pound Fort McHenry in the War of 1812, they inspired Francis Scott Key to write "the rockets' red glare," words in his poem that later became The Star- Spangled Banner.

1846

Rockett is one of the oldest settlements in Ellis County, having been settled in 1846 by Hans Smith and his family.

1853

Rockett Christian Church stems from such meetings that began in 1853.

1858

In 1858, a crude building with measurements of twenty-six feet by forty feet was constructed in what is now Rockett.

1861

In September 1861, Texas Cavalry Regiment #12 was organized at Rockett springs.

1894

When John Rockett opened a store, the name was changed to Rockett in about 1894.

1903

By today's standards, the flight was unimpressive, but like the first powered airplane flight by the Wright brothers in 1903, Goddard's gasoline rocket was the forerunner of a whole new era in rocket flight.

1907

The post office was discontinued on January 2, 1907.

1915

In 1915, he began to try various types of solid fuels and to measure the exhaust velocities of the burning gases.

1926

In spite of the difficulties, Goddard achieved the first successful flight with a liquid- propellant rocket on March 16, 1926.

1940

In 1940, Farmer and Clerk were the top reported jobs for men and women in the USA named Rockett.

1988

Sharon found her way to New York Life in 1988.

1989

A year later in 1989, Sharon’s son Bob followed in his mother’s footsteps and joined New York Life, starting his practice in Seattle.

2013

Bob has now been in the business for over 30 years and has the professional designations of Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) and Certified Life Underwriter® (CLU®). With Sharon’s retirement in 2013, Bob continues to focus on growing the business.

2019

Also, in 2019 Bob finished in second place of the NYL Cornerstone Challenge, as well as ranking 35th of their 14,000-agent taskforce.

In 2019 he achieved Chairman’s Cabinet, the highest level and honor for the top 50 agents within New York Life.
