    ROCKHURST UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF MULTICULUTURAL BELONGING AND ENGAGEMENT 2022-2023 STUDENT LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE OF THE STUDENT LEADER: This dynamic role promotes and enhances the academic success of students through an early move-in program and mentoring. The early move-in program will take place from August 16-18, 2022 and is a summer residential program for incoming freshman. The student leaders will mentor and guide students through sessions covering issues including: * Finding friends and making campus connections * Finding jobs on campus * Understanding scholarships, grants, and loans * How to succeed in classes * Using the portal: how and why? * Service learning * Preparing a graduation plan * Managing money Student Leaders will also serve as peer mentors, within the Office of Multicultural Belonging and Engagement throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. Student leaders will support students academic and social development by connecting students with resources and programs to enhance student learning. This allows students to combine the tutelage from both Academic Advisors and Student Leaders in order to establish a foundation for a successful college career. Mission: Student leaders are a part of an integrated effort to create an outstanding university experience for all students at RU with a focus on supporting multicultural learning and fostering belonging and engagement.
