Properly cleans and sterilizes equipment and prepares surgical trays as indicated by the physician. Assist physician/practitioner with office surgical procedures. Perform EKG and Spirometry as ordered. Report lab results to patients and follow through with any physician instructions to patients for follow up or change in medication, including scheduling appointment when necessary. Answer requests from pharmacies for prescription refills per office protocol. Prepare specimens and paperwork to submit to reference lab for testing as directed by physician or midlevel provider. Instruct patients on how to properly collect sterile urine specimens. On a monthly basis check all medications (including samples) and appropriately dispose of expired medications. Obtain pre-certifications for tests, procedures, treatments, medications, and hospitalizations as needed. Schedule and arrange referrals and outside testing for patients as directed by physician. Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner. Maintain appropriate documentation of compliance with CLIA regulations. Primary Care staff participates in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations. May be required to float to other offices and/or perform other duties as requested by Management. C4, F4 Collaborates with Director of Quality and Performance Improvement to implement effective ongoing educational programs: * Identifies knowledge deficits in Agency clinical and management staff and ensures that quarterly education plan is focused to address those knowledge gaps. * Performs ongoing orientation and education for clinical staff and participates in ongoing staff development programs. * Establishes and monitors procedures for clinical education and evaluation. * Develops and administers clinical competencies. * Develops and advises on instructional materials to include: plans, objectives, audiovisual aids, activities and evaluation plan tools. * Works with clinical management to identify teaching and learning needs. * Advises clinicians and team leaders on staff performance improvement. * Works with Clinical Managers to develop new staff in the areas of case management, documentation for quality, justification for services and reimbursement in accordance with Agency policy, regulatory and accreditation standards. * Maintains knowledge of Best Practices and works with Clinical Systems Coordinator to ensure pathway direct clinician toward Best Practice implementation. * Establishes and maintains systematic processes for review of educational material to ensure content aligns with PQI, Best Practices guidelines, and Policies/Procedures * Reviews and approves all presentations for meeting agency, regulatory, and industry standards. * Schedules and assigns teaching to ensure staff meet mandatory twelve (12) hours/year in-service hours. 2. C4, F4 Ensures reliability of data used to measure patient outcomes and support care decisions. * Incorporate Oasis into educational materials and presentations when appropriate. * Ensure that educational content is supported in pathways and care directives. * Orients new staff to Oasis assessment techniques and data collection. 3. C4, F4 Actively participates in appropriate Agency committees and works with clinicians across all shifts and sites. * Implements an effective training program for end users upon implementation of new clinical software. * Provides annual staff education on Infection Control Health and Safety. Properly processes and stains Pap smears and other body fluids for screening by a Cytotechnologist or Pathologist and tracks their location.
