One of the oldest colleges in Montana, Rocky Mountain College is a four-year university that combines a liberal arts education with practical training. Uniting traditions of the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church, the school seeks to yield graduates that, while church-oriented, approach questions with a non-secular and open view. RMC offers students the opportunity to earn a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science, in standard or unique programs such as Aviation, Geology and Philosophy and Religious Thought. Master's degrees are also available in Accountancy, Physician Assistant Studies and Educational Leadership. Applicants to Rocky Mountain College should consider the admissions requirements, including a standard application that may be accessed through the school's website, an official high school transcript or GED and submission of ACT and SAT scores. RMC suggests its applicants show a cumulative high school GPA of 2.50 or higher, and minimum ACT/SAT scores of 21/1000, respectively. Students whose grades do not meet these requirements but would still like to request consideration should submit a personal essay and two letters of recommendation. To declare Early Action admissions, contact an admissions counselor for assistance. Tuition at RMC aims to be affordable, but RMC also provides financial assistance to students. To be considered for financial aid students should submit a FAFSA, and review the school's many need- or merit-based scholarships and work opportunities. Tuition varies among programs so be sure to review your program of choice for a more specific cost of attendance. College life at RMC is fun and engaging, and split into two categories: “Rocktivities” and outdoor recreation, and intramurals. Rocktivities are student-run and host at least one activity a week free of charge, as well as plan other special events around campus such as talent shows, pizza and bowling or Homecoming events. The outdoor and intramural programs allow students to participate in a wide variety of weekend trips as well as classes for credit. At a college situated near the edge of the Rockies and within 90 minutes of Yellowstone National Park, weekend adventures can include whitewater kayaking or flyfishing on the Stillwater River, or a ski trip to Vail. Classes include options like Beginning Rock Climbing and Snowboarding.
