Role Information: We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Agent to support our Preconstruction and Construction departments. As the Purchasing Agent, you will assist the Purchasing Manager with bid coordination, budgets, estimating, and vendor outreach. The ideal candidate should have some estimating experience, and a four-year degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary based on experience, 40 hours per week. The compensation package also includes health and dental insurance, one week of paid vacation after 90 days, 401K, and paid holidays off. Responsibilities: Coordinate bid solicitations with subcontractors Maintain and update the vendor contact database in RedTeam Follow up with subcontractors during the bidding process Setup new vendors and follow-up using Excel, Word, and DocuSign Create budgets based on construction drawings without scope gaps Maintain and update current budgets Level and quantify bids submitted by subcontractors, looking for scope gaps Assist the Purchasing Manager in reviewing budgets for monthly adjustments Answer questions from construction staff regarding change orders, purchase orders, plan errors, and clarifications Perform concrete, masonry, and paver take-offs Work in-office Monday to Friday from 8am-5pm Qualifications and Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience estimating in the construction industry for a GC or concrete & masonry subcontractor Professional appearance and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Experience reading construction documents Proficient with Planswift, Bluebeam, OST, or equivalent takeoff software Familiarity with RedTeam is a plus Strong attention to detail and time-management skills Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Construction Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Must be able to satisfactorily complete an aptitude test Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is looking for a career in the construction industry and has the potential to grow into a leadership position with increased responsibilities.
