Job Description:
The department of Chemistry is seeking qualified applicants to teach Organic Chemistry lecture and/or laboratory sections for the coming academic Fall/Spring semesters. Our Organic course focuses on the chemistry of functional groups; topics include hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, aromatic compounds, and stereochemistry. The associated laboratory emphasizes organic qualitative analysis. This course is taught from the "Organic Chemistry" text by Klein, with our own laboratory manual. Requirements:
Applicants should have completed a Masters or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, or have ABD status towards completion of their Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry Particularly strong candidates will have demonstrated past experience in teaching this subject, both in lecture and in the laboratory.

POSTING SUMMARY:
The URI College of Nursing is committed to scientific inquiry, knowledge development, and excellence in teaching. We have built a robust research portfolio and innovative undergraduate and graduate programs that support our mission to prepare nurses to excel as outstanding clinicians, scholars, and leaders who will enhance the health and health care of individuals, families, communities, and populations both locally and globally. We seek a dynamic faculty member to join us as we continue to grow. The successful candidate will have an appointment with the College of Nursing with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across the campus and external partners. The candidate will serve as a senior member of the faculty and will be expected to have a program of research supported by extramural funding in an area that complements the mission of the College of Nursing. The successful candidate will also contribute to the University's teaching mission and participate in service activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching mission of the University by mentoring students and teaching courses for the college.
Maintain a robust program of research germane to nursing and health that is extramurally funded.
Maintain a high level of dissemination of scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
Provide leadership in innovative and emerging teaching pedagogies, national and/or international professional organizations, and in service to the college through faculty mentorship.
Serve on college and University committees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate for this position will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, develop new statistics classes at the undergraduate and graduate level, keep an active research program, seek external funding, advise and supervise graduate students in statistics or related fields (through joint supervisions), participate in service activities and provide consulting services to students and other faculty in the Department, College and University.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
1. Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or a very closely related discipline (degree must be earned before 31 August 2026).
2. Ability to conduct academic research and publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
3. Ability and interest in teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses in statistics.
4. Ability to develop and maintain a collaborative and internally/externally funded research program in statistics and/or related fields.
5. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
6. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
7. Ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
PREFERRED:
1. The Department of Fisheries, Animal and Veterinary Sciences (FAVS) in the College of the Environment and Life Sciences (CELS) at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for an academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in Animal Health and Welfare. Anticipated appointment date: August 2026. URI is the State's flagship land and sea grant research university located in Kingston, Rhode Island- a beautiful seaside community that is well connected by car, bus, and rail. URI is approximately 40 minutes from Providence, an hour from Boston and 3 hours from New York City.
The FAVS department consists of 14 full-time faculty members engaged in teaching and research that encompasses animal care, health, behavior, reproduction, and development. Our work also focuses on the sustainable development and management of fisheries and aquaculture farms, all within the dynamics of food systems. Our department has over 400 undergraduates majoring in either Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Fisheries and Aquaculture or Sustainable Food Production. Our faculty mentor graduate students enrolled in either the interdisciplinary Biological and Environmental Sciences graduate program or the Cell and Molecular Biology graduate program at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels, or the professional Master of Environmental Science and Management (MESM) program.
We seek individuals with an emerging record of impactful research, as well as demonstrated commitment to teaching, experiential learning, and mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will develop a recognized program of research excellence and scholarship in an area of animal health and/or welfare that provides potential for research synergies with existing disciplines and faculty on campus. The candidate is expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and experiential learning in the field of animal and veterinary sciences, with preference toward those who have research and teaching expertise using livestock, companion animals, or zoo/exotic animals as models. Priority will be given to candidates who show a commitment to an inclusive culture and community through research, pedagogical practices, and public engagement, and who would contribute to URI's goals in these areas.
POSTING SUMMARY:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, develop an externally funded, collaborative research program, and support public engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Establish a vibrant research program supported by extramural funding in animal health and welfare, with an emphasis on using livestock, companion animals or zoo/exotic animals as models. The successful candidate will focus on one or more of the following areas of interest: 1) disease emergence and transmission including zoonotic diseases, 2) promoting animal physical, psychological and behavioral well-being in production, laboratory and/or companion animal settings, 3) promoting animal health through nutrition and disease management strategies across life stages and among species of relevance.

The Cell and Molecular Biology Department has 14 full-time tenure-track faculty members, three full-time clinical faculty, two full-time teaching faculty, and 2 teaching laboratory coordinators. CMB faculty conduct impactful research and offer educational programs, training, and services for undergraduate and graduate students that align with Biomedical Sciences, Human Health, Infectious Disease, Biotechnology, and Bioinformatics. In the College of Pharmacy, faculty in the Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences advance scientific discovery in the biomedical and pharmaceutical fields toward a greater understanding of human health. The Department of Fisheries, Animal & Veterinary Sciences (FAVS) in the College of the Environment and Life Sciences (CELS) at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for an academic year (9-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in Fish Ecophysiology. URI, the top public university in New England, is a R1 land and sea grant research university located in Kingston, Rhode Island, a beautiful seaside community that is well connected by car, bus, and rail about 40 min from Providence and 1.5 hours from Boston.
FAVS has 11 full-time tenure-track faculty members and 4 full-time teaching faculty. Our faculty conduct impactful research on pressing problems in animal health, sustainable food production, and fisheries and aquaculture management. Research spans from molecular and physiological mechanisms to ecosystem-level processes in terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine environments. Many faculty take advantage of Rhode Island's vibrant natural habitats and URI's research facilities, including East Farm aquaculture facilities, and the aquarium laboratories at the Narragansett Bay Campus. * Establish a robust research program supported by extramural funding in fish ecophysiology and aquaculture, utilizing existing facilities at URI's East Farm and Narragansett Bay Campus. Notable areas for potential scholarship include, but are not limited to, physiological applications to sustainable aquaculture management, physiological responses to environmental stressors, metabolic and energetic trade-offs, thermal biology and climate adaptation, disease resistance and immune function, and/or how these factors impact population dynamics.

As part of their responsibilities, adjunct faculty are expected to:
* Prepare and instruct classes assigned by the Department Chair or Assistant Department Chair
* Prepare, evaluate, provide feedback on, proctor, grade, and return student assignments, examinations, projects, reports, etc. in a timely manner
* Provide a course syllabus at the start of the semester to students and the department chair
* Use the Salve learning management system (Canvas) to disseminate syllabus, course material, and grades to students
* Hold weekly office hours
* Use Salve email to send and receive official email correspondence
* Work collaboratively with other course instructors
* Hold class meetings in person on our campus in Newport, RI

The University of Rhode Island's Feinstein College of Education (COEDU) seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor in Education with a focus on coordinating the newly designed Doctorate in Education (EdD) program. This is a full-time, nine-month appointment beginning in Fall 2026. The curriculum emphasizes applied inquiry, implementation science, organizational learning, and leadership for change. All core EdD courses are delivered fully online to support working professionals, while applied focus electives may be taken online or in person, allowing students to tailor their learning to their professional goals.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The COEDU seeks a colleague who can effectively coordinate this multi-disciplinary program, collaborate with faculty across departments and colleges, and support students whose applied research interests vary widely. Candidates with expertise in quantitative and/or mixed-methods approaches are especially encouraged to apply, as these skills will strengthen students' ability to engage in high-quality applied research and data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will be committed to practice-based scholarship, student-centered advising, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning community within this new doctoral program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Geosciences in the College of the Environment and Life Sciences (CELS) at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for an academic year (9 month), tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in Discipline-Based Education Research in Sustainability and Geosciences. Anticipated appointment date: August 2026. URI is a land and sea grant research university located in Kingston, Rhode Island, a beautiful seaside community that is well connected by car, bus, and rail about 40 min from Providence, 1.5 hours from Boston, and 3 hours from New York City.
The Geosciences department has 6 full-time tenure-track faculty members and 1 full-time teaching faculty. Our faculty conduct impactful research around the world on all aspects of geosciences. Our department offers an undergraduate major in Geology and Geological Oceanography (BS) and offers courses for many undergraduates across campus. URI is leveraging Departments of Landscape Architecture and Geosciences to create a hub where faculty educate students to tackle urgent community and environmental challenges through innovative, inclusive, and resilient approaches. The Department of Landscape Architecture brings 2 new assistant professors in Environmental Planning and Urban Design and Transportation Planning and a dedicated, experienced team of 4 full-time teaching faculty with strong adjunct support. All of our faculty mentor graduate students enrolled in thesis-based research at both the M.S. and Ph.D. levels in the interdisciplinary Biological and Environmental Sciences graduate program.

Position Summary:

The department has 16 research faculty members, 8 teaching faculty members, and 16
graduate teaching assistants. We offer programs leading to BA, BS, MS, and PhD
degrees in mathematics, with applied mathematics options at all levels. We co-govern
the Data Science Program, which houses a BA, BS, online graduate certificate, and
online MS degree. The interdisciplinary nature of our department will provide the new
faculty member with opportunities to interact with a broad range of colleagues in areas
such as Oceanography, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, and Life
Sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include teaching a variety of undergraduate courses, coordinating
multi-section courses, teaching large size classes, teaching general education courses
aimed at students throughout the campus, and course and project development. Course
development involves preparing exams and syllabi, maintaining online resources and
participation in all aspects of the assessment cycle for courses. The course load is 24
credits per year with a mixture of 3-credit and 4-credit courses. In addition to other
responsibilities, teaching faculty are expected to participate in department service
activities as they pertain to their normal instructional responsibilities
