Summary:
Cleans, deburrs, and cosmetically finishes machined parts in preparation for final quality processing and shipment. May train co-workers in finishing operations as required.
Responsibilities:
* Read and understand finishing requirements from routers, drawings and specifications
* Clean, deburr and complete cosmetic finishing of machined parts utilizing burr knife, file, emery paper, countersink, cratex scotch-brite and other tools and supplies
* Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions, and established procedures
* Complete required documents and provide supervisor with accurate daily production data
* Train and assist co-workers with determining best methods to achieve desired results in a timely manner
* Work at different workstations to meet production requirements

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Finish casework, millwork, and specialty items in a shop-based environment
Apply spray-on and wipe-on stains, clear finishes, and opaque paints with precision
Sand, stain, paint, and finish surfaces to meet quality and aesthetic standards
Formulate, document, and maintain accurate finish formulas in an organized system
Develop, stage, and maintain finish samples and the finish library
Operate, maintain, and clean spray-finishing equipment and related tools
Track and maintain a running list of finishing materials used on each project
Maintain a high level of quality awareness and take ownership of finished work
Follow all OSHA, EPA, ODH, and company safety policies and procedures
Participate in accident or incident investigations when applicable
Continuously develop skills and knowledge related to finishing methods, tools, and best practices
Perform other duties as assigned

About the Role

Change out bearings as needed.
Must monitor machine operation carefully due to close tolerance of machine operation-final finishes on neck and barrel.
Trunk flexion and twisting.
May utilize stool for sitting if needed to observe and monitor machine while running.
Walk back and forth to monitor machine.
Visual inspection of part.
Task 2: Maintain Machine and Surrounding Area
The chips on this machine need be shoveled into pit.
Oil/water mix with -soda ash.
Check machine for maintenance: check fluids, etc.
Complete time sheet per job: materials and time noted.
Keep area clean, sweep, pick up debris, etc.
