Roll operator job description

Ride Operator is responsible for safely assisting guests with harnesses including inspection and adjustments while they are riding on the Attraction. Providing attentive customer service, engaging the guests so each patron has a positive experience and will return as well as telling their friends and family.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:


Oversees the safety and harnessing of all guests who ride the attraction. This includes inspection of harnesses and adjustments for maximum safety and comfort while riding the zipline. Loading trolleys onto the zipline cables safely and make proper attachments to prepare for guest's flight down zipline. Connecting guest on the ziplines, double checking the trolley and harness connections of each patron. Display critical safety instructions to every guest Double check operational partner's loaded zipline riders for safe connection (swap checks) Enable and dispatch guest from control panels Reset the automatic controls after the guest have safely launched Continue the repetitive actions necessary to cycle guests as fast as safely possible while maintaining a high level of guest service and interaction Removal of Trolleys, Harnesses and Flight Bags from Gear Retrieval System on launch platform and on occasion from Gear Retrieval Cart. Unload guests from trolley and the trolley from the cable, escort the guest to safe zone for unharnessing Verify landing platform ready to safely receive guests using automatic control panels. Verify and reset the automatic controls after guest have safely landed Loading of Trolleys, Harnesses and Flight Bags into Gear Retrieval System or Cart on landing platform Ride Operator also continually works to improve the ride cycle times which reduce the wait times for all guests. During morning operational checks be able to safely load fellow ride operators onto the zipline and dispatch for pre-opening operational checks as well as be able to be loaded onto the zipline yourself Performing and verifying that the ride is ready and safe to receive guests for opening During morning operational checks clean all platforms, staircases and handrails daily Upon nightly shutdown, remove any trash and secure platforms for maintenance Responsible for the safety of all guests, themselves, team members and other employees always. Securing all decks and platforms for closing hours.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma with two or more years' experience in a customer facing position

Ability to effectively communicate in a friendly, courteous manner with guests, other employees, management and the general public Must be able to communicate in English

Lehigh Valley Division, a part of H&K Group, Inc., is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Paving/Roller Operator to become a part of our team. This position entails the operation of roller equipment and other paving activities to achieve daily production goals on road construction projects, often transferring from one task to another whenever the situation requires. Responsibilities



Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies Operate the roller machine on road construction projects Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level) and keeping clean and free of debris Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked an stored Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs Levels earth to fine grade specifications Paving Duties: Assists with pre-run markings Uses a paving lute to fine grade before roller man compacts Operates vibratory plate as needed Shovels asphalt as required Direct traffic around work area as required Other duties as assigned



Qualifications



Required Skills, Education, and Experience
Two years of experience with roller machines on highway road construction projects Experience raking, shoveling, and operating the screed Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Problem solving Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution Four years of experience with roller machines on highway road construction projects Experience with other heavy equipment commonly used in highway road construction OSHA or other relevant safety certifications

Full Time6a - 4:30p M-Th (OT possible Fridays)$15.00/hr.

Role and Responsibilities
Able to read, write and follow instructions. Some judgement required to make machine adjustments, understand quality procedures, load and unload work from the machine. Continually checking for material defects in the coiled steel or cut parts. ALWAYS KEEP THE AREA CLEAN AND ORDERLY

• Read work order/routing sheet to determine tooling required, raw material size and quantity
• Depending upon work order, check rolls for proper life and change when necessary
• Setup feed into rolls
• Check thickness of parts against specification for each design
• Set up the cutting press for proper outline per the work order/routing
• Set up the packer in cutting press
• Cut parts to quantity on work order
• Continually measure grade so that it matches the grade chart in specification book
• Place all parts in white trays or pin racks depending upon setup

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Ability to consistently lift up to 35 lbs, regularly stand during the job, reach with hands, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• High School or GED required.
• Requires 8 weeks of training.

Preferred Skills

• Mechanical Aptitude
• Ability to use surface grinder to sharpen tools and make minor repairs to machinery.
• Ability to run roll machining equipment to rework rolls and check versus tolerance.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and willingness to be “cross trained” into other duties.
• Use of micrometers, computers expected.
