JOB SUMMARY:

Set up and operate various thread roll machines for manufacturing precision aircraft quality fasteners.


Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Competencies:

Other duties may be assigned.


Reads and interprets documents (blueprints, drawings, or manufacturing work orders), to plan set up and operation of various thread roll machines, producing parts to precision tolerance and company specifications.


Sets up and operates, on a production basis, various thread roll machines. This includes settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specifications.


Selects mounts and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship.


Starts, stops, and feeds the machines and monitors for imperfect operation.


Utilizes a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform an inspection before the start, during, and at the completion of the production run.


Reworks and directs reworking of tools as needed.


Performs, when required, Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and acts in accordance with data output.


Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals, and schedules.


LOCATION: The City of Industry, CA

QUALIFICATIONS

HS Diploma

1-10 years of Manufacturing Experience

Must past physical and background check

Pay: $24-$34 per hour

We are currently looking for an experienced thread roll setup operator to setup and operate thread headed blanks.

+ Compiles dimensions of stock, sequence of machining operations, and type and size of thread from charts and specifications

+ Selects, installs, and adjusts threading die, die cutters, chamfering tools, feed grips, pressure tripping mechanism, cams, gears and pulleys.

+ Sets feed rails, parts bowl, and roller sorter to ensure quality parts.

+ Adjusts speed control knobs to synchronize transfer and ejection of stock with machine action.

+ Selects correct SEMS components (washers) and loads into machine.

+ Complies with all safety regulations and TS161949 policies.

+ Verifies dimensions of workpieces with specifications. Modifies and grinds thread roll dies as necessary.

+ Maintains, oils, and cleans machines on a regular basis. Drains and cleans oil trays; dumps scrap and sweeps floors to maintain housekeeping standards.

+ Recognize and inspect quality issues and troubleshoots process or quality issues with engineers to correct and document.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

+ High School diploma or the equivalent required; Associates degree preferred

+ 5+ years' experience using thread rolling machines

+ Strong mechanical aptitude

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

+ Ability to complete routine production and quality reports

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

+ Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

Summary/Objective

The Roll Thread Operator will adjust/operate horizontal and inclined thread roller machines for new, special regular or experimental jobs.

Essential Functions

  • Make minor repairs such as replacing studs, set screws and/or plate springs; reports any other maintenance needs to maintenance dept.
  • Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and seldom lifting to 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40+ hours per week. Days and hours of work will be determined by the location. Eight (8) hour shifts are Monday through Friday and ten (10) hour shifts are Monday through Thursday. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.

Required Education and Experience

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Some computer literacy required
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous roll thread/fastener experience
  • Certification in the metal trades industry
  • Blueprint reading capabilities desired or ability to learn
