Working Pattern: Full time - 2nd shift (3pm -1:30am Monday - Thursday)
Working Location: Indianapolis, IN
As a FieldTechnician II, you will become a member of our team of technicians located in Greenfield, Indiana, delivering on-wing and off-wing engine maintenance and repair support to business aviation customers. This position will also on occasion report to our repair station shop located in Indianapolis, Indiana and include domestic and international travel of up to 20%.

What you will be doing:
Comply with work scope instructions as directed by our Maintenance Operations Control
Perform on-wing and off-wing engine maintenance including engine changes.
Must be able to obtain and maintain repair station inspection approvals.
Ability to interface with customers.
Ability to lift up to approximately 50 pounds and pass a required eye exam
Use troubleshooting logic to identify defects in component or parts and access / use engine data materials such as AMM, EMM, IPC, etc.
Understand; interpret and apply Service Bulletins, FAA Advisory Directives and Technical Variances when applicable.

Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED (General Educational Development) with 2+ years of aircraft maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul experience.
FAA Airframe & Power Plant License

This position is a FAA designated safety-sensitive position. How You Will Make an Impact:
The Field Service Technician provides professional service and support for customers by overseeing field service installation, startup, repairs, and maintenance for generators. Must be willing to work in all outdoor climates, be on call, and travel to various customers within their designated region.
Responsibilities:
Maintain working knowledge of power generation systems and its components, including knowledge of the mechanical operation, associated hazards, and proper usage of the equipment to troubleshoot and accurately diagnose malfunctions.
Troubleshoot, perform diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, start-ups on generators, and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generator systems.
Ability to interpret schematics and operational manuals for practical application on repair and maintenance tasks.
Prepare accurate quotes for repairs and complete/submit work orders.
Coordinate service dates with lease operators of customer site
Maintain reliability and working order of unit fleet.
Required to be part of an on-call rotation to meet scheduling needs of the department.
Know and comply with all safety policies, standards, and procedures that apply to your job.

The Engine FieldTechnician I ( R ) is designated as a "Rotational" position that usually works a designated rotating schedule, usually in patterns such as 14 days "on," and 7 days "off" work. The person must travel to and lodge at the assigned work location for the duration of the 14-day work assignment. This position is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
* Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
* Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
* Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
* Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
* Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.
* Understand and apply CAT reusability guidelines.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical engine repairs and adjustments.
* Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
* Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
* Complete accurate and timely service reports and timecards daily.
* Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.
* Use intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* CAT product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical and components.
* Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
* Ability to provide accurate quotes.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* General computer literacy.
* Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
* Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training (or acceptable combination of these requirements).
* Flexibility to work overtime as needed, as well as to fulfill the scheduling structure of a rotational position.
