Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $12.50 / hour

What you'll be doing as a Roofer Helper:

* Unload materials from truck and unroll roofing material

* Lift roofing materials onto roof using pulleys or ladder

* Clear debris from roof, scrape or pull off old roofing material

* Clear out gutters and drains

* Nail roofing paper and composition shingles into roof, apply layer of tar on roof.

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

* Proven roofing or general construction experience.

* Working knowledge of different roofing systems.

* Sound knowledge of business ordinances.

* The ability to lift heavy materials and tools.

* The ability to use powered hand tools.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Drug test required.

Job DescriptionFor the Roof Maintenance & Management Division.

We run a 24/7 shop as a service department, which means we respond to emergency calls after hours and on the weekends. We cover the whole state of Memphis.

Our RMM’s Roof Technicians receive comprehensive training that covers everything from OSHA requirements to find leaks repair them, how to reroof, flash curb and pipes, meeting standards, and quality control Inspection techniques. You will be working outdoors on a flat roof with our Service Foreman. Assist with the maintenance and repair of roofs.


Qualification and License Required:

• Roofing background or at least some construction knowledge and experience.
• Driver’s License is Required.
• Reliable transportation to go to work every day.
• Able to pass a drug test.
• US work authorization.

General Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Ability to make measurements.
• Basic Math.
• Knowledge of roofing materials and how to use them properly is a plus.
• Know how to use tools.
• People Skills.
• Common sense.

Brief Description:

• Frequent driving between services calls with the Foreman.
• Assists with retrieval and loading of materials onto services truck.
• Carries materials and tools from the truck to the roof.
• Assists with roof repairs as directed.
• Be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions.
• Includes continuous bending, kneeling, and occasional crawling.
• Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs. regularly. Repeated bending, stairs, climbing ladders.
• Must be comfortable with heights and being on a roof.
• Perform roofing work in accordance with job specifications and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Cleans grounds on job site as needed.
• Removes and set-up ladders at the job site.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Entry level will be trained on the job site.

Job Type:

• Full-time.

Salary $16 per hour Entry level. Higher wages according to experience.

*Key Responsibilities*

The Service Helper is responsible for assisting in locating leaks and performing professional quality roof repairs in a safe and timely manner, while treating customers and fellow employees with courtesy and respect. Job duties also include the completion of defined scope projects and preventative maintenance activities.
* Responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of all company issued equipment such as: vehicles, power tools, phones, hand tools, etc.
* Maintain trucks to ensure they are always stocked and cleaned inside and out
* Utilize industry standard manufacturer approved repair techniques
* Complete daily assignments in a timely manner with completion of proper paperwork
* Performs all other duties as assigned

*Education, Experience, and Skills Required*

* High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required

* 2 years commercial roofing service technician experience preferred

* Ability to withstand demands of extreme weather conditions and high temperatures
* Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall
* Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
* Capable of bending over most of the day and working on knees excessively throughout the day
* Able to pass Pre-Employment Drug and Agility screening
* Able to pass a government background check per project requirements
* Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
* Knowledge of basic roofing tools
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
