Overview
The Human Resources Communications Assistant will be responsible for creating, editing and distributing impactful internal communications related to Human Resources (HR), especially Benefits. This role, reporting to the Senior Manager of HR Communications, will collaborate closely with HR team members and other teams across the globe to promote HR programs focused on health and well-being, recognition, performance management, and compensation.
Responsibilities
Draft, edit and coordinate the distribution of internal HR communications to business support team members and attorneys.
Update and create content for the firm's intranet site, ensuring information and materials are up to date and presented effectively.
Develop annual Open Enrollment communications using a variety of channels including email, videos, presentations, print materials, and webinars.
Seek out innovative video vendors to showcase benefits and HR programs.
Partner in updating and developing materials to ensure benefits and other HR programs are effectively communicated to employees, including new hires, and job candidates.
Assist with the coordination of and provide support for various benefits and HR-related events.
Learn about the firm's culture and HR programs to identify appropriate channels and HR messaging for our various populations.
Explore ways to make HR communications more engaging and provide suggestions for improvements, with a goal of helping our workforce better understand, utilize and value the benefits and programs offered by HR.
Analyze communications- and HR-related metrics, and make recommendations.
Support the Total Rewards and HR Business Partner/Talent teams on special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of hands-on work experience in communications and/or HR, preferably in a professional services environment
Demonstrated experience in the successful development of communication
Proven ability to :

Absorb information and translate it into persuasive, relevant, benefit-oriented messaging

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support regular operations and promote organizational efficiencies of the relevant practice groups, including:

o Facilitating the organization and implementation of practice group training and development programs and events

The Business Development team supports the firm across a broad spectrum of new business and client relationship-building activities, including the creation of new business proposals and firm marketing materials, upkeep of the databases that track firm experience and client information, competitive and market intelligence, and coordination of client events.
The Business Development Specialist works closely with partners and other lawyers in our Capital Markets practice, as well as working closely with the Business Development Managers to drive and develop the implementation of business and client development initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategic management and review of content development for targeted presentations, proposals and pitch materials
Manage complex pitch requests and RFPs

The Opportunity
We are hiring a Knowledge Strategy Lawyer (KSL) who will be responsible for supporting the development of strategic knowledge management initiatives for assigned transactional practice group(s), including Banking and Corporate, and will help further develop and implement the practice group(s) related projects to meet the practice group(s) knowledge needs. Responsibilities
Knowledge Strategy
Works with Knowledge Partner(s) and other attorneys in assigned practice group(s), Knowledge Strategy Counsel and others in the KM group to assess the knowledge needs of the assigned practice group and develops and implements a plan to meet those needs that are aligned with the business goals of the practice group.
Partners closely with the KM group, Innovation & Emerging Technologies group, Research & Knowledge Services and other relevant parties to gather attorney feedback, otherwise assess attorney workflow, identify knowledge management and practice solutions needs and implement appropriate solutions and best practices to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the practice group.
Knowledge Bank & Knowhow Management
Drafts, maintains, updates and organizes model forms, practice notes, checklists, best practices and how-to guides, market data points and other substantive content for the practice group as needed and facilitates approval and continuously keeps them up to date.
Works independently and with the practice group attorneys to select, collect and organize valuable reference materials on the practices' internal sites and databases.
Verifies data accuracy within KM systems and ensures consistent application and compliance of KM taxonomies. Monitors compliance of data collection workflows, including regular evaluation of effectiveness of data collection processes. As necessary, works with the KM group. Innovation & Emerging Technology Group, other technology groups and other relevant stakeholders to develop new workflows and processes.
Develops and maintains designated practice sites and other know-how repositories, curating content and ensuring they are aligned with the needs of the practices and continuously kept up to date.
Meets regularly with attorneys who have expertise relevant to the practices, and facilitates sharing of quality know-how and expertise.
Thought Leadership
Researches, monitors, and informs the practice groups of legal and market developments and trends in practice.
Assists with client and Firmwide mailings.
Prepares regular current awareness newsletters for the practice groups.
Practice Innovation
Works with attorneys to look for opportunities to leverage existing and emerging technologies to address identified attorney needs; develops workflows leveraging practice group resources and technologies to promote efficiency in practice.
Works with the KM group, the Innovation and Emerging Technology group and other technology groups to coordinate pilots and proof of concept programs, including evaluating new and innovative products and services based on practice group's needs.
Alongside the KM group and other technology groups, manages and implements legal technology (including, AI driven contract analysis tools, collaboration tools, automation tools, and transaction management tools).
Assists internal and external developers with the development of new practice tools and reengineering processes for greater efficiencies.
Advises the Knowledge Management Partner(s) and other attorneys in practice groups on improved processes and new technologies.
Institutes workflows and processes to improve the utilization of practice content and innovation tools..
Business Development
Works with practice members, Business Development and Marketing groups to identify opportunities to develop business.
Participates in client pitches and business development activities as required.
Training/Awareness & Mentorship
Works with practice group attorneys and Firm's training groups to create and deliver regular training programs that meet training needs of practices, including developing and delivering training, materials, workshop sessions, seminars, and various CLE programs targeted towards associates.
Trains attorneys and promotes use of department's KM resources.
Mentors associates by providing them best practices and responds to queries from attorneys to identify know-how and how to access and use KM resources.
Establishes relationships with attorneys to promote awareness of, and solicits participation in KM initiatives.
Collaboration
Solicits feedback from KM partners and attorneys to prioritize knowledge management and practice innovation needs. Collaborates with attorneys to create and maintain appropriate knowledge management and practice resources.
Participates in regular KM group meetings and practice group meetings and works with other KSL to share best practices and ideas and identify projects that would benefit from a multi-group collaboration, and ensuring consistent messaging about Firmwide KM efforts and projects.
Works with the KM group and practice group to identify key metrics that will be used to measure the group's engagement with, and adoption of, core KM resources. Provide regular reporting to practice group leadership and KM group.
Liaises with users of KM resources to gather feedback on KM resources.

Substantive expertise in Banking or Finance practice

About the Role
The Audiovisual Services Supervisor is an integral part of Latham's Technology and Information Services team and will be responsible for supervising the daily functions of the local Audiovisual support staff, while promoting and educating employees on current Latham technologies and services via lunch demonstrations, practice group meetings, one-on-one visits, and new hire orientations. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
Supervising, training, and coaching the Audiovisual support staff and leading them in their professional development endeavors
Assisting with projects and initiatives as needed, including quality assurance testing, diagnostics and systems integration work, and assisting in the development of office-wide implementation plans, including carrying out the plans
Ensuring that all conference rooms are outfitted with appropriate audiovisual and technology components based on size of the room and functionality requirements, which include systems for audio and videoconference calls, PC-based presentations, Intranet/Internet wireless connections, and in-room amplification
Ensuring that all audiovisual and technology equipment and applications in conference rooms are functioning and ready for use in advance of the start of scheduled meetings (e.g., computers, displays, codecs, etc.)
Scheduling and coordinating daily checks of the conference rooms to ensure that all equipment is working properly; coordinating with the audiovisual technology vendor and/or other members of the Technology team when repair/maintenance of conference room equipment is needed
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Engagement Letters Analyst to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). The Engagement Letters Analyst reviews and analyzes documents and data, executes projects, and performs other functions related to maintaining, negotiating, and analyzing client engagement terms to meet the needs of the Firm. The role plays an integral role in assisting the Firm in managing the evolving landscape of client-driven agreements including Engagement Letters and Outside Counsel Guidelines ("OCGs"). The Opportunity
We are seeking a Technology Support Analyst to join our Firm. This individual will provide technology support to the local office for areas including software, hardware, infrastructure, network services, mobile and remote services, audio visual, telephone, and security systems. Provides a high level of customer service, accurate reporting, and teamwork with other local technology professionals as well as the Firm's central resources in White Plains. Works under the direction of the Senior Technology Support Analyst, Technology Support Supervisor, and Technology Manager.
Responds to local and central telephone helpline, support tickets and e-mails, assesses problems, and offers assistance, logs all calls into the Firm's call logging systems and resolves or escalates as appropriate.
Provides application support for both local installations and Citrix-based applications.
Assembles, installs, configures, tests, images, troubleshoots, and repairs hardware and peripherals, including but not exclusive to computers, printers, scanners, mobile phones, and Wi-Fi capable devices, audio visual equipment and software,
reprographic and cost recovery network interfaces, security network interfaces and other equipment and applications as required.
Provides assistance and advice on technology allowance purchases for attorneys.
Provides support, troubleshooting, and repair for laptops and desktops.
Assists with remote site access.
Assists with Firm's audio visual set up requirements.

Time entry narrative changes with respect to additions, corrections, deletions
Prepare/finalize invoices adhering to all client discounts and policies/guidelines; Review WIP and proformas prior to distribution to Billing Partners to ensure accuracy.
Track the status of bills that are electronically submitted, identify issues, and work to address rejections and issues causing delays.

About the Role
The Global Compensation Analyst is an integral part of Latham's Human Capital team and will be responsible for serving as a central point of contact to provide analysis and guidance on compensation related matters for the Staff population under the direction of senior management, while using market data to provide compensation recommendations for individual positions across the firm and identifying comparable positions and industries to make recommendations for hard-to-find or unique positions. This role will be located in either our New York or Los Angeles office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
Conducting job analyses on both existing and new jobs to determine the appropriate salary level according to firm guidelines and market conditions
Providing compensation analysis at the person-to-person, job-to-job, office-to-office, and firm-to-market levels to ensure equity and competitiveness
Staying abreast of available compensation surveys and compensation-related market research to identify and review those products which the firm should use as analysis and research tools on a regular basis
Staying current on all compensation-related regulations and helping to ensure compliance with current compensation policies and processes
Participating in salary surveys and analyzing market compensation survey results to determine the firm's market relationship
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We'd love to hear from you if you:
Possess knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger, budgeting, and budget variance analysis
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of compensation and benefits practices
Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
And have:
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent, preferably with a focus in human resources, finance, or a related field
A Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification, preferably

The work of the legal secretaries at Sidley Austin LLP (the "Firm") is critical to the overall operation of the Firm and the ability of each and every lawyer to serve the Firm's clients effectively. At the Firm, legal secretaries are considered professionals and important members of the team. An effective team is based on mutual respect, cooperation and commitment to a common goal.
When a secretary is hired by the Firm, she or he is hired by the Firm and not by a particular lawyer. Thus, secretaries are expected to play an active role in assisting their assigned lawyers - and, when necessary, assisting other lawyers and other secretaries - toward the common goal of providing the Firm's clients with the best service possible.
To be an effective member of the team, secretaries should familiarize themselves with Firm procedures, from the way files are organized in the Records Department to the billing procedures of the Accounting Department. To be an integral part of a practice group, secretaries should also work with their assigned lawyers in establishing and maintaining the particular procedures of the practice group and the lawyer's individual requirements and procedures.

Overview
The Manager of Application Development is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of software applications to support the firm's business operations. This role leads a team of developers, collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements, and ensures the successful delivery of high-quality applications used by attorneys and business support departments.
Responsibilities

For our corporate attorneys, we assist in managing transactional data, facilitating due diligence processes, and ensuring seamless integration of technology solutions.
Legal Professional and Paralegal Administration prepares and/or drafts closing documents or pleadings, forms, letters, and other correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of attorneys and maintains closing or case files.
Research Services providing research services involving legal, business, and general information sources to attorneys, paralegals, and staff using a variety of research tools.
Knowledge Management organizing and administering know-how resources including standard forms, precedent and work product, deal information, and other legal information relevant to attorneys within their practice.
Litigation Services supporting the firm's Litigation & Trial Department; this includes assisting with the preparation and review of legal filings to ensure adherence to court rules, conducting research on procedural matters utilizing a range of research tools, and facilitating the organization of court-related services.
