POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Egg Processing Maintenance Technician is expected to achieve and maintain a level of competency, which allows them to ensure the equipment's efficient performance through regularly scheduled preventive and repair maintenance performance. In addition, the Maintenance Laborer verifies parts and supplies inventories. This person is also responsible for assisting the machine operator with directing workers in government and company sanitation regulations. Finally, the maintenance laborer inspects appearance and work methods of line personnel for conformance to machine operation standards. All duties should be performed in an exemplary and professional manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for the following equipment preventive maintenance schedule and daily operation schedule (this list is not exclusive): * Regularly lubricate all appropriate machine components * Assist in ensuring that machine and work areas are being properly cleaned each day. * Perform inspection of machine and related equipment at regular intervals. * Repair and/replace broken parts as needed to avoid down time. * Regularly inspect and adjust all machine components and operating systems directly, or indirectly related to the production area. * Regularly communicate with machine operator and also assist with routine equipment maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting. * Assist Quality Control Inspector to ensure final product meets all requirements and specifications. * Assist machine operator with maintaining an organized and safe working environment. * Be able to run the machine. * Assist in monitoring and adjusting printing on packaging to ensure clear and proper information. * Assist in ensuring that machine and production area are kept neat, clean and organized during operation. * Assist with oversight on new equipment installation. * Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local directives and regulations. * Complete and transmit of all appropriate paperwork associated with operations and performance. * Alert (within a reasonable time frame) the processing or complex manager of any urgent or emergency situations, which require immediate attention or approval. * Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies necessary in the maintaining of the machine. * Familiarize self with and conform to all Bio-security Program Policies. * Familiarize self with and ensure personnel comply and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices Handbook (GMP) policies when applicable. * Familiarize self with and comply with Company Safety Program. * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. As a shipper, they will maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Assistant Clean-Up Manager is to help the Clean-Up Manager in ensuring that the grader and processing areas in the plant are thoroughly clean and sanitized each evening according to Rose Acre and USDA standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Assist Clean-Up Manager in directing and training the crew in the daily operation of the sanitation checklist. * He or she will help allocate crewmembers and man-hours to particular locations on the processing floor as needed. * Report any improper cleaning methods to his or her crewmembers the first time an incorrect procedure is observed. * Communicate crew performance to both the grader and complex managers. * Help the Clean-Up Manager look for potential cleanliness problems that might interfere with productive efficiency during the next day's run. * Assist the crew in daily cleaning duties, and also with cleaning the candling booth areas, pans and buckets around the area, and all floors in the processing area. * Monitor usage of supplies and manage the inventory of supplies by placing orders as needed. This inventory management may include items not used by the clean-up crew as determined by the complex manager. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of a bird-moving crewmember will be to fulfill the needs of bird moving during the week. He or she will transport birds from Rose Acre facilities, and thoroughly clean and disinfect all equipment as necessary. Although birds need to be moved quickly and efficiently, the bird mover must always keep the well-being of the birds in mind to reduce mortality. Finally, the bird mover will inform the supervisor of his or her crew of any problems with broken water lines, floor or feed troughs as soon as possible. All duties are to be performed in an exemplary and professional manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for abiding by all of the general responsibilities listed as a bird-moving crewmember. * Responsible for checking with the crew supervisor on the time and location for the following day's moving schedule. Due to frequent changes, the time and location of moving may change frequently. * Must ensure that all spent hens or pullets being moved are loaded into carts according to preset counts. * Must use caution when loading and unloading bird carts so as not to damage cage or house equipment. * Must count all birds accurately, whether it is loading a cart or filling a cage, disciplinary actions, including bonus pay deductions for inaccurate counts. * Responsible for carefully handling each bird to reduce stress and injury. Pullets should be grabbed with one hand by one or both legs, with the other hand supporting the breast area. When handling spent hens, in addition to the aforementioned method, grabbing them by the base of both wings is also acceptable. Rough handling of birds will result in disciplinary action being taken * Responsible for ensuring that all clothing worn to work each day, including shoes, have been properly disinfected. More detailed information from the crew supervisor regarding bio-security is available, but proper care should be taken to prevent diseases from being spread. * Responsible for familiarizing self with all Rose Acre Employee Handbook policies. * Responsible for familiarizing self with Rose Acre Farms Biosecurity Program policies. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: * Must possess good writing and arithmetic skills. * Must be reliable and be extremely punctual. * Must be in good physical health, as working conditions require constant movement, bending, turning, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Assistant Clean-Up Manager is to help the Clean-Up Manager in ensuring that the grader and processing areas in the plant are thoroughly clean and sanitized each evening according to Rose Acre and USDA standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Assist Clean-Up Manager in directing and training the crew in the daily operation of the sanitation checklist. * He or she will help allocate crewmembers and man-hours to particular locations on the processing floor as needed. * Report any improper cleaning methods to his or her crewmembers the first time an incorrect procedure is observed. * Communicate crew performance to both the grader and complex managers. * Help the Clean-Up Manager look for potential cleanliness problems that might interfere with productive efficiency during the next day's run. * Assist the crew in daily cleaning duties, and also with cleaning the candling booth areas, pans and buckets around the area, and all floors in the processing area. * Monitor usage of supplies and manage the inventory of supplies by placing orders as needed. POSITION DESCRIPTION: To assist the Grader Manager and Assistant Grader Manager with training and maintaining a capable working team. The Third Person is also responsible for assisting the Grader Manager in supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in processing shell egg product from a daily checklist. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Production Manager Trainee will assume normal duties and be given special projects, management assignments, and research projects by Rose Acre Management. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for learning and understanding all layer house processes. * Responsible for working with the production manager to ensure weekly goals are met. * Aid in monitoring the houses for production and livability goals. * Responsible for performing, communicating, and evaluating post mortem inspections of birds. This will be required on a monthly basis. * Responsible for training, implementing, and enforcing all animal welfare policies as defined by Rose Acre Farms. * Responsible to oversee that production and feed goals are followed, and for accurately reporting progress weekly. * Responsible for working with house managers and employees to ensure that everything within the houses is running smoothly. * Responsible for filling in when employees miss, quit or take vacations. * Responsible for ensuring that pests are kept to a minimum in the houses and that all traps and pest bait are set out weekly. * Responsible for managing employees in his or her state, scheduling them, and enforcing Rose Acre policy guidelines upon them. * Responsible for reporting ANY problem in his or her area that is beyond normal duties to the area complex manager immediately. * Responsible for filling out all necessary paperwork and ensuring that it is distributed and sent to the correct areas.
