What you'll be doing
The Concrete Laborer will join our operations team and support our concrete, asphalt, and sealcoating teams. What you'll be doing
We are searching for a talented Project Accountant he or she will be responsible for performing detailed accounting and costing functions for specific projects. This individual will be handling the day-to-day responsibilities of job costing, project analysis and follow up as a member of the operational and sales teams, assisting with payroll, preparing monthly journal entries, account analysis, month-end closing, and production of monthly reports for management (additional personal reports maybe required for the President/Owners) and other accounting duties, as assigned.
Responsibilities
* Manage all accounting functions for assigned projects, including billing, cost tracking, and closeout.
* Ensure all contract and accounting requirements are met, including Certified Payroll, AIA Billing, Releases of Liens, and Affidavits.
* Collect, review, and analyze job cost data such as materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment.
* Compare actual costs against budgets or estimates and investigate variances to identify discrepancies or cost issues.
* Prepare and process project billings, including progress and final invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Serve as the liaison between customers, Account Managers, and internal accounting teams on all accounting-related matters.
* Provide management with accurate job cost summaries, WIP analysis, and profitability reports.
* Prepare monthly journal entries, maintain accruals, and perform account reconciliations to ensure proper cost recognition.
* Support month-end closing processes and assist in preparing financial reports for management review.
* Coordinate with Project Managers, Account Executives, and Accounts Receivable to ensure jobs are properly set up, recorded, and billed.
* Manage collection of retainage and past-due balances where applicable.
* Maintain organized project documentation, including change orders, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
* Participate in continuous improvement of job cost and project accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What skills & experience you'll bring to us
* The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum requirements to be considered:
* BS Degree in Accounting required.
* Must have excellent communication skills and a natural ability to work in a fast-paced and growing environment.
* Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
* Must have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
* Strong sense of urgency required.
* Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a construction or related industry.
* Very strong Job Costing and General Accounting skills required.
* Must have strong knowledge of computerized accounting systems with financial analysis capabilities.
* Proficient with personal computers and software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
* Expertise with Microsoft Dynamics and Business Central software a plu

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Account Executive will be responsible for full cycle sales, from procuring and maintaining clients to providing an in-depth analysis of needs, submitting estimates, obtaining the order and following through.
Actively seeking out and pursuing new business opportunities through a variety of marketing practices including but not limited to- direct mail, referrals, trade shows, cold calls, etc
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
Negotiates price and terms within the context of company policy
Prepare estimates used for managing purposes, such as planning, organizing and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness
Consults with clients, vendors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to assist in the preparation of time, cost, materials and labor estimates for all phases of project
Monitors and audits assigned job sites for quality control through on site visits to review and get feedback from Project Managers and customers
Develops, submits, implements, manages and reports on sales goals and business development plan in accordance with company policies and systems
What skills & experience you'll bring to us
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Construction Management
5+ years in direct sales, not telemarketing or inside sales
Understanding of reading and estimating from blueprints
Knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in a paving, landscaping or construction type environment is ideal
Excellent math and geometry skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
