Many of Oklahoma's home-schooled students choose to attend Rose State College. Located minutes from downtown Oklahoma City, Rose State College has five distinctive academic divisions: business and information technology, engineering, health sciences, humanities and social sciences. Its 60 programs lead directly to a career or prepare one to transfer to a four-year university. The distinguishing feature of a Rose State education is its innovative and flexible scheduling options. Not bound to the usual semester and quarter system, classes at Rose state are offered in two, four, eight or 16-week terms. Classes are also offered during the day and evening in the classroom, and at any time online. Another attribute of a Rose State College education is the campus culture. Rose State has a 1400-seat professional theatre where nationally-known artists often perform. Rose State also has over 35 clubs and organizations, a school newspaper and a number of athletic teams. Rose State's student services include the Workforce Development Division, which provides professional training and career advisement. Financial aid is based on need and includes loans, work-study, grants and scholarship, or a combination of these to those who qualify.
