Your Next Opportunity:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for account management activities, including overseeing and managing client relationships, pipeline management, and closing contracts.
What You'll Do:
Manage and develop the business development team, including the Business Development Manager(s), Business Development Specialists, Business Development Coordinators, and Business Development Associates.
Perform and manage research to identify and prioritize potential customers, expansion markets, new technologies and projects.
Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific target markets and projects as identified in the Marketing Plan.
Supervise the development of marketing materials.

What You Bring to Us:

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Pre‑Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and development of electrical project opportunities from concept through project award. This role bridges the gap between estimating, engineering, and operations-ensuring accurate budgets, constructible designs, and seamless project hand‑offs. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of electrical systems with strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Lead the pre‑construction process for large and complex electrical projects, including conceptual budgeting, design‑assist, and design‑build efforts
Maintain thorough project details list that describes the project “trail.”
Conduct project risk analysis, identify scope gaps, and develop mitigation strategies.
Understand the company's philosophy and systems.
Understand objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate boundaries.
Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
Represent the company in project meetings.
Supervise the preparation of all pricing quotations for presentation to the prime customer.
Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest while maintaining a good client relationship.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Other duties as assigned within the business unit.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems
Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, and design consultants
Thorough understanding of design project types and concepts including design‑build, design‑assist, IPD, Lean, and LEED
Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Trimble or similar), Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Revit and MS Office Suite
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adjusting priorities as needed
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills
Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering or related discipline
Minimum 5 years experience in the construction industry; electrical construction with at least 3 years in estimating, engineering or pre‑construction leadership

Up to 10‑25% of time on job sites

The Internship Program at Cupertino Electric, Inc. is a 10-to-12-week program designed to expose undergraduate and post-graduate students to various aspects of CEI's core markets: Commercial, Data Center, and Energy & Renewables. _Below is a detailed example of responsibilities an intern may participate in or contribute to during their time with CEI:_
+ **Estimate Phase** : Creating a bid strategy, getting quotations, and writing proposal letters.
+ **Pre-Construction:** Negotiating contract terms, creating an original budget and schedule. Creating a plan with the production team to address; efficiency, logistics, and materials. Organizing all documents and drawings, selecting subcontractors and holding a job start meeting.
+ **Construction:** Managing materials, submittals, and change orders. Maintaining activity logs, managing materials, vendors, and subcontractors. Writing documents including RFI's and notice letters. Monitoring project progress, including cost and safety.
+ **Closeout:** Managing closeout documents, commissioning equipment, and returning excess material.
