The main responsibilities of the Laboratory Assistants are to set up, evaluate, and analyze field and lab research projects; prepare samples or specimens for examination, processing, and evaluation as well as set up & maintain research equipment. Assist in the setup, maintenance, and evaluation of field research projects. Summarize and minimally analyze research data; and assist in the assembly, testing, and operation of complex laboratory equipment.
Technical assignments at this level typically include duties such as: preparing samples for nutrient analyses, preparing complex reagents and media using basic ingredients, processing and testing field samples through sap analysis, preparing components required for media making, preparing field samples for examination by professional and/or academic personnel, preparing concentration specimens, collecting stem water potential measurements using a pressure chamber, evaluating plant and soil health using visual and laboratory methods, assist in experimental applications of registered chemicals to plants, monitoring insect pest populations, accurately weighing field yields using a harvest weigh cart, removing fluids and preservatives by pipetting and using solvents, assisting a team with harvest preparation and procedures, grinding tissues and placing in suspension, and dissecting plant and insect material exposing tissues for examination.
This position is a career appointment that is 75% variable.

The CRCA will coordinate moderately complex aspects of one or more clinical studies. The CRCA will work under close direction of the Division Chief.

Duties include:
+ Serve as primary contact with research participants, sponsors, and regulatory agencies. Coordinate studies from startup through close-out.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Student Health Center Medical and Nursing Staff and the Administrative supervision of the Chief of Medical Services, the Medical Assistant performs a wide variety of medical assisting tasks, including preparation of patients for examination and treatment, taking vital signs and charting them, administering vision and hearing tests, performing some clerical and housekeeping tasks in the health center, autoclaving equipment, preparing and giving injections and immunizations, if certified; drawing blood, if certified; processing laboratory specimens, assisting all SHC medical staff.
Qualifications
Experience: One year of increasingly responsible clinical aid experience in a medical setting performing duties such as those done by a Clinical Aid I, nurse aid, orderly, surgical technician, cast technician, physical therapy assistant, ward clerk, or laboratory assistant.
Successful completion of a recognized training course as a Nurse Aid or Medical Assistant may be substituted for the experience requirement.

The Role
As a Medical Assistant at Sonoma State University's Student Health Center (SHC), you'll be a vital member of a close-knit, skilled, and collaborative medical team that values excellence, dependability, empathy, inclusion, teamwork, and overall well-being. Reporting to the Associate Director of the SHC and the Lead Physician, and working under the supervision of licensed clinicians, you will provide both clinical and administrative support that enhances the health and success of our students. Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt probationary position scheduled to work 11 months each year. The compensation for the 11 months of work will be paid out over 12 months with the month of July observed off. Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $51,036 (Step 7) annually.
In accordance with the California State University 11/12 pay plan, the salary earned for months worked will ultimately be pro-rated to an 11/12 salary schedule and paid over 12 months in equal increments, with benefits covered for the entire 12 months. Under the 11/12 schedule, the salary placement will not exceed $3,531 - $3,899 per month, paid over 12 months with continuous benefits eligibility. Should the starting date not coincide with a standard 11/12 pay plan cycle, the employee will start at an equivalent full time 12-month salary rate with the month of July off unpaid and be converted to the 11/12 rate in August 2026 with benefits covered for the entire 12 months moving forward.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. The Student Health Clinic (SHC) is seeking a Clinical Assistant to join their team. The SHC at Butte College is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate, physical and mental healthcare to all eligible students. The Clinical Assistant assists with patient flow including checking in, rooming, and checking out patients. They will prepare patients for exams, including taking basic physiologic measurements including blood pressure, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation, and vision testing. Work Schedule

While Medical Assistants are not certified, registered, or licensed in the State of California, the Medical Board of California requires that medical assistants complete specific types and hours of training to perform the duties outlined in their scope of practice. CSU-specific requirements are as follows:

The Role

Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt probationary position scheduled to work 11 months each year. The compensation for the 11 months of work will be paid out over 12 months with the month of July observed off. Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $51,036 (Step 7) annually.
In accordance with the California State University 11/12 pay plan, the salary earned for months worked will ultimately be pro-rated to an 11/12 salary schedule and paid over 12 months in equal increments, with benefits covered for the entire 12 months. Under the 11/12 schedule, the salary placement will not exceed $3,531 - $3,899 per month, paid over 12 months with continuous benefits eligibility. Should the starting date not coincide with a standard 11/12 pay plan cycle, the employee will start at an equivalent full time 12-month salary rate with the month of July off unpaid and be converted to the 11/12 rate in August 2026 with benefits covered for the entire 12 months moving forward.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a robust, sub-specialized clinical program, with a multidisciplinary approach working closely with the medical and radiation oncologists in the Center. They will be supported by a team of inpatient/outpatient advanced practice providers (APPs) and 24-hour hospitalist coverage. Emergency room coverage is not mandatory, except for established or postoperative patients. The position will include opportunities to participate in the education of fellows and residents and to participate in clinical research programs. Strong integration with the main Stanford campus in Palo Alto will be prioritized through hybrid faculty meetings, grand rounds, tumor boards, as well as research and teaching conferences. Ample access to clinical and academic mentorship will be available through the broader Stanford Urology Department and Stanford Cancer Center communities.
The position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The Role
As a Medical Assistant at Sonoma State University's Student Health Center (SHC), you'll be a vital member of a close-knit, skilled, and collaborative medical team that values excellence, dependability, empathy, inclusion, teamwork, and overall well-being. Reporting to the Associate Director of the SHC and the Lead Physician, and working under the supervision of licensed clinicians, you will provide both clinical and administrative support that enhances the health and success of our students. Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt probationary position scheduled to work 11 months each year. The compensation for the 11 months of work will be paid out over 12 months with the month of July observed off. Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $51,036 (Step 7) annually.
In accordance with the California State University 11/12 pay plan, the salary earned for months worked will ultimately be pro-rated to an 11/12 salary schedule and paid over 12 months in equal increments, with benefits covered for the entire 12 months. Under the 11/12 schedule, the salary placement will not exceed $3,531 - $3,899 per month, paid over 12 months with continuous benefits eligibility. Should the starting date not coincide with a standard 11/12 pay plan cycle, the employee will start at an equivalent full time 12-month salary rate with the month of July off unpaid and be converted to the 11/12 rate in August 2026 with benefits covered for the entire 12 months moving forward.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
