Assist the Director of Respiratory Care Services with all aspects of the Clinical Operations of the department including but not limited to:
Budget preparation
Long and Short term planning and implementation of process improvement projects, attendance and participation in multidisciplinary teams
Staff development, medication administration, program development
Initiation of Strategic plan, Performance Improvement monitoring
Customer service initiatives, Maintaining positive relationships within the department and with medical staff, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Involved in Long Term and Short Term Planning
Analyzes Data to determine performance improvement opportunities
Evaluates current state and looks for opportunities for department growth and new innovative procedures and activities.
Supports the budget process, providing information relative to capital, operating, and staffing needs.
Completes assessment of department needs and initiates a plan to address those needs
Encourage innovation and process change to improve patient care and customer satisfaction
Leads and participates on department and hospital wide committees and groups to enhance delivery of services and customer service initiatives. Demonstrates project management skills necessary to multi-task and finalize projects and initiatives.
Provides follow-up to customer service complaints, including patient/customer interview, staff interview and completion of required documentation and reporting.
Supports hospital and departmental mission and vision.
Provides leadership in the advancement of Respiratory Care and its staff
Assures staff schedules are maintained and staffing levels are adjusted as necessary to achieve desired productivity levels.
Maintains adherence to budget.
Able to explain variances and make adjustments to meet goals.
Acts as an example to respiratory care staff in the area of professionalism and commitment to the respiratory care profession and the hospital.
Supports activities which promote the recognition and growth of respiratory care services within the hospital and community. Participates in and encourages recognition of staff and activities which promote the profession of respiratory care
Promote and Enhance Professional Growth and Development
Assists in the development of department educational program and assuring its completion
Participates in the disciplinary process including counseling, development of action plans and progressive discipline.
Maintains a relationship with outside entities involved in the development of staff including state and national respiratory care organizations and hospital associated groups.
Assures the delivery of quality care in an efficient and safe manner
Executes project management for all hospital respiratory, laboratories, and other regulatory body requirements.
Assists in the selection of equipment, supplies, staffing models, modalities, etc.
Assists in the selection and monitoring of department performance improvement initiatives
Works with quality and safety to address hospital and department issues for which respiratory care is involved.
Assists in the development, review and modification of department policies and procedures.
Monitors the activities and progress of assigned staff.
Assumes responsibility for all other duties assigned.

We utilize Respiratory Driven Protocols to manage patients in ICU and acute care areas. After completing competency, RTs are able to intubate and insert A-lines
We work in adult cardiac care unit (ICU), medical/surgical ICU, progressive care unit (PCU), acute care floors (womens, medical, surgical, joint/spine, neuro)
We have a Womens Center with a level 3 NICU. RTs will attend deliveries and care for babies who are admitted to the NICU receiving respiratory care
We have a pulmonary function lab (PFT) where RTs perform outpatient and inpatient PFTS
We perform inpatient EKGs on the general care floors, occasionally outpatient (shared service with cardiology)
We manage GE Carescape R860 vents, Servo I vents, Drager VN500 and HFOV NICU vents, Phillips V60, Bubble CPAP, REMstar CPAP, Smart Vest, and Airvo
We perform bronchoscopy assistance with Glidescope disposable bronchs
Opportunity to cross-train on EEGs, PFTs and NICU
Option to participate in Annual Pulmonary Conference, Leadership Development classes, and Skills Development Courses
Our team consists of approximately 50 members, 1 director, 1 supervisor, 1 NICU lead, and 2 adult lead
We typically run 7 people during the day and 6-7 at night. Varies per census and acuity
o We cover our South Campus which has an ED, behavioral health unit and acute care rehab. 1 RT for each shift.

Qualifications:

Quality Control

Ensures that equipment is fully operational prior to each use, by checking for proper calibration and operating deficiencies.
Completes all studies in RIS, images are oriented, marked, labeled, and noted correctly prior to sending all studies to PACS; prints CDs as necessary.
When submitting procedures for interpretation comparative studies are digitized if necessary and the preliminary sheet is filled out in its entirety, if applicable.
Maintain all documentation so that the facility meets ACR Accreditation standards.
Technologist is knowledgeable in completing and documenting the following ACR/MQSA QC test: Phantom, Visual checklist, Repeat analysis, Compression-pressure, compression thickness, flat filed test, calibration, Dicom printer test.
Operations
Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains Mammography Department in clean and orderly condition.
Transports patients, positions patients, and helps them on and off procedure table.
Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.
Applies shielding.
Prepares and maintains patient follow-up data.
Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request as needed and routinely as time is available, without prompting, so that all working time is used for departmental advantage.
Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel in accordance with procedure when warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services.
Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification in the event of problems or potential problems.

The Senior Lead Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for defining the principles, standards, and design patterns to build secure products and enterprise tools for all of Cox Automotive's multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
