Rothschild North America Inc. company history timeline

1987

The CBDC was set up by the United Kingdom Government on 3 April 1987 to redevelop of one sixth of the area of Cardiff to create Cardiff Bay.

1989

1989: Offices in Germany and Italy are opened; Rothschilds Canada Inc. subsidiary is established.

Water privatisation was undertaken in 1989 to partly privatise the ten previously public regional water authorities in England and Wales through the sale of assets.

1991

Jacob went on to found J. Rothschild Assurance Group (now St James's Place plc) with Sir Mark Weinberg in 1991.

1992

When Evelyn de Rothschild began to look toward consolidating the family's banking interests, he tapped David de Rothschild to become N M Rothschild's deputy chairman in 1992, establishing his younger cousin as his heir apparent.

1993

1993 Rothschild reopened the dormant Eurosterling convertible bond market

1994

Rothschilds’ Shanghai representative office opened for business in 1994.

1995

1995: An office in Shanghai, China, debuts.

In 1995 Rothschilds underwrote a vendor placing and open offer for Rolls-Royce to raise approximately £350 million.

1996

1996 Rothschild forms a joint venture with ABM AMRO

1998

1998: 200th anniversary of Nathan Mayer Rothschild's arrival in England.

1999

By 1999, that venture--ABN AMRO Rothschild--was completing deals worth more than $125 billion per year.

Geely Holding Group acquired Volvo from Ford in 2010. It was acquired by the Ford Motor Company in 1999.

2000

2000 N M Rothschild & Sons Limited develop 3G licence auctions

2001

That subsidiary was expected to begin operations in early 2001.

2003

He served until 2003 when he oversaw the merger of the family's French and UK houses.

In 2003, after 44 years with the family firm, Sir Evelyn de Rothschild stepped down as Chairman of N M Rothschild & Sons Limited.

2008

In 2008, work began on the re-building of N M Rothschild & Sons Limited offices, New Court.

2009

2011

The area underwent major work by both Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and the China International Trust and Investment Corporation before it was planted with grape varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Marselan in May 2011.

2018

In 2018, Rothschild & Co announced the appointment of Alexandre de Rothschild as Executive Chairman, succeeding his father, Baron David de Rothschild.

2018 Rothschild & Co advises on the sale of Wembley Stadium

2020

2020 Rothschild & Co advises on sale of shareholdings in the world’s largest offshore wind farm project
