Round Rock ISD company history timeline
The Round Rock Independent School District was established on May 17, 1913, when voters approved incorporation of Williamson County Common School District #19 by a 57-2 vote.
In 1913, the Round Rock Independent School District was incorporated and Round Rock Institute became Round Rock High School.
1914-10-22 Stalls may be built for student’s horses
1914-10-14 Teachers allowed to attend some evening activities
1932-05-03 Theo Krienke begins 22 year stint as Board President
1939-01-03 Extra month added to segregated school year
1948 ‘Mexican School’ ruled unconstitutional
1964-09 Desegregation begins at Round Rock High
In 1964, the enrollment of RRHS was 324, but growth had begun.
1966-3-10 Signe Quick retires after 51 years of teaching
Hopewell Negro School closed in 1966 and students were integrated into one high school without incident.
1978-05-11 North Oaks Elementary School is named
Tom Norris, assistant superintendent for secondary operations, was named interim superintendent November 4, 1993 after Trustees bought out Dan McLendon's contract for $115,000.
1993-04 Archie Holmes elected to Board of Trustees
