Essential Functions:
- Assist in the development of a district to be a highly productive team, through continual training, regular meetings, daily check-in, fostering a positive work environment, route rides, supervising and building strong relationships with each RSR.
- Assist the DM as assigned, to ensure customer loyalty and outstanding customer Service through customer visits, audits, new installs, problem solving, openly communicate and negotiate with customers.
- Leading their district to success, communicate changes and policies, evaluate route organization, project a professional image and require of their district likewise, and cooperatively work with other departments in the branch.
- Support the department so that all company policies and procedures are followed, including safety and Service SOP. Evaluate service procedures and make recommendations.
- Complete general route responsibilities when necessary. Safely operate company vehicles, following all applicable laws and company policy.
- Assist in retention and growth, sales, promotions, contests, proper product mix and continued customer relationships.
- Perform, as needed, all of the responsibilities of a RSR at a higher level and with a managerial perspective, evaluating the route and the RSR performance on the route.
- Perform all of the responsibilities of a Route Relief/Utility RSR as needed.
- When running a route, up-sell, cross-sell and sample all lines of service or product, and ensure a profitable product mix. Monitor and report competitive activity. Keep service agreements current and renewed.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.

Additional Functions:
- Work with and support other service personnel as required by supervision.
Qualifications:
- Have and maintain a valid Driver's License and must be 21 years or older.
- Maintain a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, safety or other violations.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in customer service and route sales.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English, comprehend and follow direction and good time management skills and team player.
- Recognize colors, sizes and types of product and count, add and subtract accurately.
Education:
- High School graduation or similar experience.

Travel Requirements:
- Frequently within the branch area.

Typical Environmental Conditions:
- Operating vehicles on public roads, working in and out of customer locations, loading areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, Service Center or depot.
- Indoor and outdoor areas of a typical industrial facility.

Typical Physical Activity:
- Physical Demands/Requirements - sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, moving equipment, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, walking, writing, speaking, hearing.

Route Supervisors are responsible for the management of a group of drivers to ensure safe services to customers. Supervisors oversee the performance of drivers with an emphasis on safety, customer service, and productivity. The hours and physical demand may vary by route or area.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
Train and direct employees to improve their overall performance.
Dispatch daily assignments.
Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards, and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
Ensure completion of daily routes, and ensure that all productivity goals are met or exceeded.
Maintain and check daily route sheets and route new customers.
Run routes as necessary, (absences, vacations, vehicle break downs).
Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management.
Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections.
Monitor driver hours in accordance with DOT and Rumpke regulations.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with employees, co-workers, and management.
Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements.

Monitors productivity, service and safety targets for each route and driver.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have previous management experience.
Must have waste industry experience.
Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft applications, AS400, and Lotus Notes applications a plus.
Proven customer service skills.
Knowledge of area with the ability to read maps.
Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems.
Must have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
Ability to drive truck with manual transmission.
Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire.
Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
2 years truck driving experience a plus.
Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
Must be able to read and speak the English language.
Must be at least 19 years of age.
Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, and be available to address operational issues by phone at all times.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
Possible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.

Job Summary:

The Route Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team drivers, messengers, and guards that support and performs the Cash in Transit functions. This position ensures accountability and the security of all liability and prioritizes daily operations workflow. The CIT Supervisor assists the Manager in the secure, safe and efficient functioning of the armored car facility.

This position functions in an armed environment. It also requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's and its customers, as well as the safety of persons on the premises of Brink's and its customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first line supervision to CIT employees

• Oversee daily operations including but not limited to route efficiency, route scheduling, opening and closing of branch

• Maintain safe and secure environment with the goal of ensuring that all CIT employees work and return home safely

• Provide coaching and skill development to employees on a consistent basis

• Leverage systems, equipment and process redesign to drive continuous improvement

• Maintain and provide quality customer service

• Secure inventories by executing controls and ensuring strict compliance with security procedures; ensure implementation of measures to reduce worker's compensation injury costs and security losses

• Ensure employees are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations required to perform their duties

• Assist Management as need to meet branch goals

• Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years operations experience in transportation and/or logistics

• Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age

• A valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements

• A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses

• Able to lift at least 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an armored car driver

• Knowledge of route analysis and logistics

• Knowledge of lean/process improvement methodologies

• Knowledge of budgeting and planning experience

• Bachelor's Degree
