The Collection Services Assistant supports the operations of Campbell Library's Collection Services unit by assisting with acquisitions, budget coordination, and vendor relationship management in collaboration with the Associate Director, Collection Services, and the University's central IRT Finance team.
This position helps ensure that library collections and related resources are acquired and maintained efficiently by preparing documentation, tracking renewals, monitoring budget activity, and facilitating communication among library staff, IRT Finance, vendors, and other University partners. The role also contributes to the analysis of collection expenditures and the preparation of materials needed for contract evaluation and vendor negotiations. The Collection Services Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate records, enhancing workflow efficiency, and supporting the Associate Director's decision-making across all areas of collection management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Acquisitions and Contract Coordination - 35%
* Prepare and organize materials to support the acquisition and renewal of print and electronic resources, including vendor quotes, pricing analyses, and contract summaries.
* Assist the Associate Director in evaluating and negotiating vendor agreements by gathering comparative pricing data, usage information, and prior contract terms.
* Coordinate with the IRT central finance and procurement teams to ensure accurate information and documentation are provided for purchasing and payment processes.
* Maintain records of order requests, vendor information, and renewal timelines to support timely review and approval.
* Track and document communications with vendors and consortium partners regarding orders, renewals, and terms of service.
Budget Analysis and Financial Liaison - 35%
* Collaborate with the IRT central finance team to monitor library collection budgets and funds, ensuring allocations and expenditures are accurately reflected in Alma and other reporting systems.
* Assist in preparing regular budget and expenditure analyses for the Associate Director, identifying spending patterns and providing supporting data for budget planning.
* Help reconcile collection-related data between Alma and the University financial systems and prepare documentation for IRT Finance review.
* Contribute to the development of dashboards and reports used to monitor collection trends, encumbrances, and renewal cycles.
Collection Development and Stakeholder Support - 20%
* Respond to inquiries from library directors, faculty, and staff regarding potential new resources, renewals, and collection priorities, providing background data and summaries for the Associate Director's consideration.
* Help collect and organize usage statistics, feedback, and vendor performance data to inform future collection decisions.
Operational and Administrative Support - 10%
* Assist in maintaining documentation, workflow guides, and reference materials related to acquisitions, licensing, and assessment.
* Support the coordination of the Campbell Library operational budget through data gathering and reporting.
* Participate in projects and initiatives to streamline processes and improve communication between the library and finance teams.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of experience working in an academic library or related environment.
* At least five (5) years working with Ex Libris Alma Library Services Platform.
* Strong attention to detail in record-keeping, data entry, and document management.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, finance staff, and colleagues across departments.
* Experience supporting acquisitions, finance coordination, or contract administration in an academic or research setting.
* Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor relations within higher education.

The AV will oversee managers who supervise vivarium staff and train personnel in procedures that promote proper animal care and use as required. Quality control reviews of animal integrity will be made available to investigators, users, and senior administration.
The AV will be available to provide ongoing technical expertise and consultation to facility staff and users, as well as IACUC members, and will be thoroughly versed in all practical and administrative aspects of surgical procedures, anesthesia, analgesia, euthanasia, and biosafety as required by research activity. The AV must be familiar with institutional and federal guidelines for the care and use of animals and will be the primary formal point of contact for dealing with violations, occupational health and safety issues and facility security. The AV will engage users in dialogue on all issues that impact on research compliance and productivity, and will serve as a conduit for dialogue between users and senior administration.
REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess a D.V.M/V.M.D. degree. Candidates must be licensed to practice in the state of NJ or be eligible to obtain licensure in NJ within a reasonable amount of time. ACLAM board certified or eligible for veterinary candidates is desirable. Experience in a research animal facility setting is a must, preferably in a supervisory capacity. Under the direction of the AVP Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs (PI of the grant). Responsible for driving the Mobile Food Laboratory (MFL) to and from education programs for students in the K-12 educational environment at participating schools. The MFL's home base is at the Meadowlands Environment Center (MEC). She/he drives the MFL and facilitates the set- up/take- down for programs for educators and other special programs as required. The MFL is a mobile classroom that only has students and educators on board when it is parked and being used for educational programming; when on the road the only person on board is the driver.

We are seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position, with an anticipated start date as early as September 2025 and no later than December 2025. The position has a total intended duration of two years, structured as one-year renewable contracts.
The successful candidate will join the Soft Matter Engineering Group, led by Dr. Xiaohui Xu in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Rowan University. Their research will build on prior work developing the fundamentals of hydrogel composite systems for mineral extraction and water recovery.
The work is primarily experimental and includes everything from hydrogel material design and synthesis to evaluating mineral recovery using natural sunlight. The project is supported by the ACS Early Career Postdoctoral (ECP) Faculty Bridge Grant.
The successful candidate will receive full support for salary, benefits, and visa sponsorship for the duration of their contract. They will also have the opportunity to mentor a team of junior scientists at the undergraduate and PhD level, attend multiple conferences and networking events, and receive regular feedback from collaborators. The primary place of research will be the Soft Matter Engineering labs on Rowan University's campus in Glassboro, New Jersey.
Minimum Qualifications:
* PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
* Prior research experience (ideally from PhD) in water purification, membrane filtration, hydrogel materials, or a closely related area.
* Prior experience and/or strong motivation for mentoring junior scientists.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated interest in research communication beyond basic degree requirements. This could include writing beyond coursework, conference posters/presentations, seminars, teaching experience, or attendance in communication courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience with gel synthesis or resource recovery.
* Expertise with HPLC, XRD, DSC, TGA, SEM.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and optimize reports, dashboards, and tools in Slate to support data-driven decision making.
Partner with admissions and campus teams to solve problems, improve workflows, and streamline processes.
Manage portals, communications, and events within Slate to enhance the applicant experience.
Train staff, faculty, and partners on Slate functionality, becoming a go-to expert on CRM tools.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring everything runs at peak performance.
Collaborate on communications, populations, queries and marketing automation, ensuring messages reach the right students at the right time.
Stay ahead of technology trends and recommend new tools that support innovation in admissions and enrollment management.
Ensure data integrity including structures, tables, forms, data integrity and security, the flow of data across processes/units, etc.
Collaborate with internal and external campus partners to develop, test, and maintain integrations between Slate, Banner/Workday Student, and third-party vendor systems to ensure seamless data flow and system alignment.
Build and maintain queries to assess operations and workflow, supporting Undergraduate Admissions staff on Slate and other Enrollment Management software.
Collaborate on cycle preparation for applications and coordinate with the Associate Director for Marketing and Communications on automated communications, queries, and daily processes.
Maintain expert knowledge of CRM (Slate) and student information system (Banner/Workday Student).
Identify opportunities to expand applicant experience processes within Slate and work with Enterprise Application Services to implement improvements.
Manage ETL processes and data uploads for list purchases and lead generation, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of imported data.
Serve as technical liaison to new and existing third-party vendors; contribute to analyses on ROI of vendors.
Explore, recommend, and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance CRM capabilities, including predictive analytics for enrollment forecasting, natural language tools for student communications, and automated processes to increase efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum three years of experience utilizing Slate CRM.
