Joe Adams is managing partner and CEO of RSM US LLP. He is focused on leading the firm to achieve its bold vision to be the first-choice advisor to middle market leaders globally by creating an outstanding RSM experience, enhancing the firm’s commitment to the middle market, empowering teams of passionate, innovative professionals, and cultivating RSM promoters in the marketplace.

Since taking on this role in 2011, Adams and the RSM team have doubled the size of the organization through organic growth and strategic transactions with more than a dozen firms, including the buyback RSM McGladrey and the launch of RSM Canada. His team has launched the RSM global brand, built a stronger talent development culture and formalized the firm’s commitment to culture, diversity and inclusion (CDI). Adams is currently working to build a strong culture of innovation to ensure that the firm and its clients are prepared to step boldly into the future.

A member of the firm’s leadership team since 2008, Adams previously served as regional managing director of the Great Lakes region and office managing partner for the Chicagoland offices. His client service experience includes auditing and advising clients in a variety of business and strategy matters. Adams also served as a member of the board of directors from 2001-2005.

Bill Gorman

Bill Gorman was named RSM US LLP (RSM) chief operating officer in September 2015. As COO, he focuses on leading firm-wide strategy execution efforts and operational alignment to support RSM's strategic vision to be the first-choice advisor to middle market leaders. He serves on the firm's Leadership Team, leads the firm's Business Planning Committee and is the executive sponsor of several key change management strategies, including the Client and Prospect strategy, Strategy Dashboard process and Birdies Fore Love program, a charitable partnership with the Davis Love Foundation and The RSM Classic. He also leads a firm-wide change management framework that engages employees in strategy execution.

Gorman previously served as regional managing partner for the firm's Southeast region, was the partner-in-charge of the audit practice in the firm's Mid-Atlantic region and in 2010 became the audit practice managing partner for RSM US's East region. He was the partner-in-charge of audit and accounting for C. W. Amos & Company, a regional certified public accounting firm in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., when it merged with McGladrey & Pullen in 2000.

With more than 35 years of audit and business advisory experience, Gorman specializes in serving middle-market companies in the manufacturing, distribution, construction, services and non-profit industries. He has served clients with a variety of audit, tax and business advisory services, such as organizational restructuring, board development, asset divestiture, personnel assessment and counseling. He has created financial reporting systems, dashboards and management benchmarking processes for these organizations.

Doug Opheim was named CFO of RSM US LLP (RSM) in 2010 and also served as executive partner-administrative services. He oversaw the firm's national practice standards group until the firm bought RSM McGladrey from H&R Block, an acquisition for which he was responsible for securing the bank financing. As CFO, he also oversees the firm’s information technology systems.

Opheim joined the firm in 1980 as a staff accountant. He spent 16 years working in the Des Moines, Iowa, Minneapolis, and Elkhart, Ind., offices. During that time he helped re-engineer the firm’s auditing process. He was admitted to the partnership in 1988.

In 1996, Opheim became a regional coordinator of audit and accounting, based in Minneapolis. He oversaw the quality control aspects of the firm’s audit and accounting practice for 13 offices. One of his projects was the development of the first-ever paperless audit for midsized businesses-a means of streamlining and improving the quality of the audit process.

That same year, Opheim joined the firm's Board of Directors. During his three years on the board, he helped accomplish the merger of the firm’s tax and consulting services into H&R Block.

From 1999 to 2003, Opheim was the senior vice president of finance and information and chief financial officer of RSM McGladrey, Inc. In 2003, he was named executive vice president of operations, and became chief operating officer of RSM McGladrey in 2006.
