Responsibilities:
Provide assistance for time-sensitive and proprietary tasks for assigned leadership team members as requested.
Assist assigned leadership with ongoing projects and deliverables Leveraging knowledge of assigned practice, support leadership in execution of strategic or tactical imperatives
Start to develop an understanding of solution offerings and relationships with supporting leadership.

Work with leadership to coordinate risk mitigation, process improvement, communication, and support needs affecting the successful delivery of client solutions.
Analytical duties may include but are not limited to:
Developing data and storage requirements, reporting, analytics, and delivery methods in data standards and metadata.
Develop, analyze, and evaluate data to create and maintain business intelligence frameworks.
Integrate and mine large data sets, connecting data from disparate sources to identify critical insights and pragmatic data solutions.
Maintain/update/create technical specifications (ex. data mapping, data flows, and dashboard content).
Develop real-time reporting for analyzing KPIs.
Design and create analysis and reports that include summaries, graphs, diagrams, and other visual representations in BI or excel.
Develop and maintain forecasting databases/tools and provide analysis to leaders on outcomes.
Discover and define new processes for improvement and opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Education
Bachelors or Associates degree in process with Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics major preferred

Position Summary
The Compliance Intern will join the Risk Management team to gain exposure to regulatory compliance, control testing, and enterprise-wide risk processes. Primary Accountabilities

The Security Governance & Risk's (SG&R) Security/Cyber Standards & Assurance provides services to test and confirm compliance with the Security Standards by developing, advocating for, and reviewing compliance with Security Control Requirements. Model risk comes down to making informed business decisions by understanding a model's weaknesses or limitations. With a variety of models designed to maintain Navy Federal's financial stability and its ability to make impactful member-related decisions, it is more important than ever to ensure those models are tested, challenged on current model usage and practices, and assessed on the effectiveness for their intended uses.
The Model Risk Management (MRM) team serves as a 2nd line of defense, and our mission is to:

MRM is responsible for maintaining a governance framework that standardizes model risk activities from model development through retirement. MRM uses control processes to ensure sound model risk management across all model lifecycle activities.
Core components of Model Risk Management's role include:

Maintaining a full inventory of models including documentation, code, and datasets

Assessing the conceptual soundness of models and their risk through analysis

Project - Model Validation:
The Summer Associate will complete an end-to-end validation of one of Navy Federal's predictive models. This validation would include analyzing the model's data, conceptual soundness, key assumptions, limitations, estimation, calibration, and implementation as appropriate. The validation may also include developing a challenger model against the original model design. At the conclusion of the validation, the Summer Associate will have identified a list of model risk findings that will be presented to the Model Owner for remediation. The selected model for this project may be within a variety of possible subject domains, such as fraud detection, targeted marketing, underwriting, financial forecasting, and more.
Project Steps:
Review model documentation and meet with business owners as needed to gain an understanding of the model
Conduct a complete independent model validation, which may include, but is not limited to, assessments of the following:
Model theoretical framework, fitting methods, assumptions
Data creation process, including data preparation and data quality
Model specification
Model development and performance testing, which may include in-sample, out-of-sample, out-of-time backtesting, sensitivity testing, stress testing, and performance monitoring results

As a Deposit Product Strategy intern, you will come out of this experience with an understanding of product strategy, customer research, and data-driven decision-making. You will gain direct knowledge of how we improve our customer experience and ensure our products meet the evolving needs of our users. You'll learn how to analyze customer feedback, usage patterns, and competitive trends.
Responsibilities of the Deposit Product Strategy internship role may include but are not limited to:
* Analyze customer behavior and feedback to uncover pain points and identify opportunities to improve the checking product experience
* Monitor key performance metrics related to customer satisfaction, product usage, and support interactions
* Assist with competitive benchmarking and market research to inform product decisions
* Support testing and rollout of new product features by helping gather data and track early performance
* Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to develop insights that drive customer-centric decisions
* Prepare reports and visualizations that communicate findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders
* Help maintain and organize internal knowledge bases, dashboards, and research libraries
What we are looking for
* An undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between either December 2026 or May/June 2027.
* Area of Study: Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
* Cumulative GPA is 3.0 or above
* Strong interest in consumer banking, fintech, or digital product strategy
* Customer-first mindset and passion for improving user experiences
* Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage.
* Strong English communication skills both written and spoken required.
* Analytical thinkers with a strong attention to detail.
* Organized and able to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently.
* Ability to work independently on special projects.
* Ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.
It would be nice to have
* Coursework in or exposure to accounting, finance, economics, or business. (Preferred)
* Experience in Microsoft Office products. (Preferred)
What Else You Need To Know:
The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
