We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill programmer specializing in Mills to work from supplied documentation to create programs, manufacture one off and prototype components for a multitude of applications across a variety of industries. We have a strong history in the machining market in Seattle with our campus covering over 250,000 square feet of manufacturing space. You will be challenged with exotic metals, prototypes, gears, splines, and other unique projects every day. Responsibilities: Write and/or modify CNC programs and instructions for Mill, and multi-axis / mill-turn machined parts utilizing Siemens NX. CNC programming experience a plus. Must be able to perform own setups, measure parts that consistently result in precision quality parts. Large overhead crane experience and move large work pieces. Must be able to edit G and M-codes, trouble shoot jobs and make adjustments as required. Strong shop mathematics (trigonometry) aptitude and the ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, mics and other gauges). Must have the ability to use a feed and speed chart or calculator to determine appropriate feeds, speeds, and depths of cut. Understanding of metal properties and appropriate cutting tools. Positive attitude required; dependable, self-starter and the willingness to help others. Ability to work in a large manufacturing environment and performs well with minimal supervision. Proven experience operating a lathe in a manufacturing environment Basic understanding of mechanical drawings, blueprints, and machining symbols. Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in machining or CNC lathe operation. Experience with CNC lathe programming and operation. Basic knowledge of metallurgy and steel properties. Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities: Set up and operate lathe machines to cut, shape, and finish steel parts according to technical drawings and specifications. Inspect finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of lathe equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Adjust machine settings and tooling to accommodate different steel materials and part designs. Collaborate with production supervisors and quality control teams to meet production schedules and quality standards. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize production delays. Maintain accurate records of production output, machine maintenance, and quality inspections. Skills: The required skills enable the Lathe Operator to accurately interpret technical drawings and operate lathe machinery to produce steel components that meet precise specifications.
