Summary Objective
The Mechanical Field Service Lead serves as the senior field mechanic responsible for overseeing the mechanical installation, startup, and commissioning of Stellar Energy's Modular Central Utility Plants (MCUPs) at customer sites. This position helps direct and support a team of two Field Technicians and acts as the primary mechanical authority on-site, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations. The role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, leadership in field operations, and familiarity with digital instrumentation and smart mechanical systems.
Essential Functions
Lead the contractor in all mechanical installation activities at customer locations, serving as the senior site mechanic.
Coordinate and supervise the work of two Field Technicians, ensuring mechanical installation and commissioning tasks are executed to a high standard.
Interpret and execute mechanical and piping drawings, installation plans, and P&IDs provided by Engineering.
Oversee the preparation and alignment of pumps, chillers, heat exchangers, valves, piping systems, and associated equipment.
Lead startup and commissioning procedures for mechanical systems, including hydrostatic testing, flushing, leak testing, and equipment verification.
Interface with internal Engineering, Project Management, and Controls teams to resolve technical or equipment-related issues in the field.
Perform functional tests and assist with integration of digital instrumentation, sensors, and mechanical control systems.
Ensure compliance with all applicable mechanical codes, safety regulations, and Stellar Energy standards.
Maintain detailed field documentation including redlines, daily work reports, punch lists, and commissioning logs.
Mentor and train field technicians on mechanical best practices, safety procedures, and project expectations.
Interface with internal Engineering, Project Management, and Controls teams to resolve technical issues in the field.

Work Environment
This is a field assignment, work is onsite at assigned location. Fast paced, time sensitive, stressful, construction environment where there are no exceptions to the safety and quality requirements. Large amount of decision-making daily with accuracy margins associated. Exciting and ever-changing environment of Lean methodology employed daily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed inside and outside with uncontrolled weather conditions.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
8+ years of experience in mechanical installation or field service in industrial or commercial environments.
3+ years in a supervisory or senior field mechanical role.
Hands-on experience with mechanical system startup and commissioning.
Knowledge of mechanical codes and safety standards (OSHA, ASME, ANSI, etc.).
Knowledge of quality system, process control, and tool control, etc.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Technology, HVAC, or a related field.
Experience with modular energy systems, packaged utility plants, or central utility systems.
Certifications in rigging, equipment alignment, or mechanical commissioning.
Familiarity with IIoT-enabled mechanical systems or smart mechanical infrastructure.
OSHA 30 and first aid/CPR certifications.
Work Authorization
Must be qualified to work in the United States. Must hold a current US Passport or have ability to obtain.

R&D Intern Summer 2026 - Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Northwood, OH
Purpose:
We are a team that develops process control and inspection systems for automotive glass.
This internship involves creating software applications to assist in that area. In addition, the intern will have a project, chosen based on company needs and intern interests, that they will be responsible for planning and executing, with our support.
Essential Functions:
Assist with R&D inspection systems, mainly focused around software development
Write, test, and implement software applications as required
Create documentation for software applications as needed
Participate in large scale software testing within R&D development
Plan and execute intern project
Maintain clean, organized spaces and assist
Assist with health and safety initiatives, with direction
Assist with recycling program and other environmental initiatives as needed
Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
Other duties as assigned by manager
