You must be capable of reading drawings, weld symbols, and weld procedures. These must be assembled and welded per stringent quality standards and meet all specified codes. The use of all basic steel fabrication tools is needed and expected. Responsibilities Prepare posts, frames, rails, or assembles for welding Verify all dimensions with the approved shop drawings Verify welding is in accordance with the specific codes and weld procedures Adjust welding equipment as needed Make fixtures as necessary to improve productivity Make backing bars if needed Perform welds as specified and directed by your supervisor Clean and prepare finished products for inspection Keep your personal tools and assigned tools and equipment in proper working order Communicate with your supervisor Work must be completed in a timely manner consistent with the best in the industry Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. What You Will Do: Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the 2nd Shift TIG/TACK Welder is responsible for manual TIG welding of production parts and/or TIG repair of rework parts while maintaining quality and production standards.
