Instrument Fitter Responsibilities
Assemble, install, maintain, modify, and repair precision instruments and sensing lines used for measurement, indication, transmission, recording, and control in power generation and various manufacturing or processing facilities.
Fit and assemble instrument components, including pressure transmitters, gauges, switches, valves, and associated fittings, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
Accurately measure, cut, bend, and fit up instrumentation sensing and process tubing ranging from ¼” to 1” (or larger) according to P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and mechanical assembly drawings.
Inspect instruments for accuracy and calibrate them to manufacturer specifications using standard weights and measures, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing equipment, as well as precision hand tools.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble intricate mechanical or electronic instrument components with care and precision.
Troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair instrument systems by replacing or refurbishing defective parts using both power and hand tools.
