In 1911, J.B. Morin opened a 12-stool diner known as the Franklin Cafe on Mill Street in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
ATTLEBORO - Back in 1914, when workers lowered their lunch pails to the Franklin Cafe from the windows of a factory next door, the owner of the diner, John "J.B." Morin, saw an opportunity to grow his 3-year-old business.
While Russell travels to his customers, Billy's come to him on South Main Street in Attleboro - the diner's landmark home since 1930.
Russell Morin Jr. moved the catering business to the Attleboro Industrial Park in 1983, and William Morin remained with the diner.
Then there was the diner's 2009 appearance on The Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."
As with other industries, 2009 - the year after the stock market crash - was a bad year for his company, Russell said.
In 2010, Morin's Diner was featured on the Food networks "Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives," and Fine Catering by Russell Morin became one of the premiere caterers in New England.
